Oh come on man...lol....Are you under 12-years-old or something?

Anything short of Prince murdering someone is par for the course when it comes popular artists acting like assholes....I mean, I'm a huge fan of Miles Davis...And guess what?...He was a junkie for a large part of his career who beat his women....And yet, that doesn't affect my opinion of him overall because I never put him up as my hero in the first place....The only people who hero worship are unbalanced fans or 10 year olds.....Which category do you fall in?

mozfonky said:

Just unusually bad to the people around him. Sure, we all are sometimes, but here we have a guy just wacky as hell and everyone tolerates it because of a lil' money and a lil' power. If he tried alot of those things on me or a lot of other people he would have went down on his ass, which according to rumour, he may have at times.

Like I said....you are acting like a dissappointed 10 year old whose hero turned out to be a douche....

But I have a sneaky suspicion that you were never a Prince fan to begin with...lol....i think you are just pulling everyone's chain...Again....Bravo....

Well, who's acting a ten year old? you're getting bent out of shape and i'm just relaxing here. Anyway, prince can do what he wants, but he has to be ready for whatever consequences too. YOu guys bore me with the sycophantic defensiveness. I'm not into getting attention so you can stop giving it to me when you want there charlie.

Classic deflection technique...Good try, homie...

But you noticed I haven't used any exclamation points...I haven't used cap letters...In fact, I'm not even the person you are trying to paint me out to be....I'm the guy that would like to see all of this wack shock posting to end...

I'm giving you attention because you fit the mode of the two type of camps that's dragging this site down: The "Prince can never be criticized" loons and the "Let's criticize everything the man does as if we have a personal relationship with Prince" crowd.....

But on the real, the more i think about it, you may not fit into any one of those categories....You may be someone who just wanted to do a little shock-posting on the fan site of an artist who were never a fan of in the first place...

Again, only 10 years old hold musicians to hero worship status...Now don't get it twisted....It's ok to praise someone's musical achievements and the impact for what they meant to your life...But also understand that these heroes have flaws like other everyday folks.....They are women beaters (James Brown, Miles Davis, Ike Turner); they are drug addicts (Elvis, MJ, Jimi Hendrix); And everything else in between....

Just turn the volume down homie...It's just not that serious...

I'm curious to know if Polkadotbliss was an artist similar to Prince's status, and there was a website devoted to his fans called Polkadotbliss.Org, would he ever go there to check out what some of his fans are saying. I know if I had one, I would not be able to resist visiting from time to time. Who would be able to resist visiting their own online fan community? Most celebs are so narcissistic and Vanity-driven they couldn't resist either.
[Edited 11/6/09 18:01pm]

From personal experience, since I happen to be in touch with two celebrities in my country, I can tell you that they did visit and read their fan-forums for a short period of time. After that both of them got bored and never returned again. If you think about it fan-forums don't really have anything new after a while, they just repeat themselves over and over. You would get tired of them shortly too, I'm sure, as would anyone. Especially if you'd been a celebrity for as long as 30 years!

I actually don't believe in heroes anymore, absolutely do not. And not because of Prince, I've learned that all people have huge shortcomings and skeletons in their closets but most people realize that you at least have to pretend to be decent. That may be hypocritical of them I guess but even the pretense is better than out and out tyranny sometimes.
Anyway, I brought up the dissapointment thing with Prince because image had me thinking he was a hero, at that age I wasn't ready for that kind of dissillusionment and it sticks to me. Much like Muhammad Ali remembered how his idol Sugar Ray Robinson told him to get lost and Ali remembering the hurt decades later. Sometimes the stage we are at makes a difference.
Instead of any real incisive arguments I've only gotten a lot a hot air from you guys which is ok. Can't say I expected any different. Although some of these fans know how i feel. As far as shock posting, I've been on the org longer than most people here and I rarely even start threads, I was just expressing some thoughts, not really caring what the reaction would be. And I still don't really.

Prince I hate you,
Ever since I read the first bio I had on you which was full of how you treated your friends and coworkers I've been disgusted with you. Being a Native American, respect for others is important and you showed none to anyone. Others see only the glamor, me, I recall all the little unknown anectdotes of how you stole music from the guys around you, how you borrowed your "cousin" Chazz' drum set and wouldn't return it saying "i'm a star now I don't have to do anything". Or how about how you drop kicked the 18 year old Brown Mark onstage when he broke a couple strings. You have nothing but burned bridges and hateful people in your past. Most all say very bad things about you and feel used and abused. You were cruel, mean, vicious and selfish. You complain about the record companies yet you have demeaned and exploited everyone you've ever worked with. You treat your fans like crap and have lost most of them over the years. The list goes on and on...

I dont understand, if you hate him so much, why are you here? why do you care so much about everything from his PAST? It has nothing to do with you. GET A LIFE.

I mean no offence but I just thought your post didn't match your username. lol

What's to hate about Prince? OK, pulling his stuff from youtube was a douchey move but that aside, I LOVE his music, performances and videos.
As for how he allegedly treated people....
Most it is gossip but if true, people treat you as badly as you let them. The guy is like 5 feet tall and 100lbs. I'm sure if he REALLY treated everyone that badly he would have eventually crossed the wrong person and gotten an ass whuppin. Because he's famous SOMEONE would have talked about it.

Hard to believe that NO ONE Prince supposedly treated so badly had enough balls to say "fuck u!" and give him a two piece.
I think his alleged bad treatment of people is greatly exaggerated.

I live in Minneapolis, was in the scene from 90-2001, hung out at paisley, with band members, shot hoops with laywers, tech guys you name it. I even used to shoot ball with Chazz and he's a really cool dude. I've heard it all, he's this he's that and i've also (from those same people) heard about his generosity and encouragement. Did Chazz tell you that Prince never let him drive a car more than 1 year? that he bought him a new one every year and spoiled his children?. Would this replace the drums or salve his wounds from being replaced as a drummer-who knows? but he told me that just like he told me the bad stuff. Prince is not evil, but he's human, and Minneapolis is filled with people who knew him when and have a story to tell.Talent rises mozfunky, with the exception of a few like sheila E Prince surrounded himself with musicians who couldnt outshine him. Jimmy and Terry went beyond this so called curse by knowing their roles, and bringing talent out in others. The Andres, Marks, Jesse's and Morris's all at one time believed they were of comparable talent-which was their downfall. So, if prince did negative things to hinder them it's understandable that they want to latch on to that, but 25 years later is flirting with loser territory.

I can't say I know how they all feel, other's here may. And I know from experience that it's easy for other people to tell you not to be bitter or resentful but that's only because they aren't the ones being disrespected. I or you, can't really say it's "loser territory" really I don't think. I'm glad Chazz made up with him, he was full of bitterness in a documentary that I have which must have been around 90 or so. And let's face it, relationships of any kind are complicated and messy. Usually, the stuff that people are bitter about is pretty petty stuff, I don't think in P's case it always is. And BTW, I don't say Mark Cardenas is bitter, I don't really know, so I should be very careful about what I post of his statements. In fact, I've thought maybe I shouldn't have said anything. But that notwithstanding, there are plenty of prime examples documented in bios and interviews to show how needlessly cruel the man is..

In my opinion, being inconsiderate and not asking if you can read someone's personal letter is what a JERK would do. Also, never letting your employees drive a car more than a year, and buying them a new one every year mostly so he could "spoil" them to justify treating them disrespectfully, makes Prince sound like a mean and superficial person. I finally understand why Mayte and Manuela divorced him. This man's fame seems to have gone to his big head. I don't care if "he's Prince and he can do whatever he wants to do!" razz I would have checked his ass and told him about his self if he read my letter. lol I've learned many negative things about little Princey here on the org. He probably didn't buy them but leased them. In leasing contracts, cars are kept on average from anything between 9 months and 3 years. So nothing special about that.

I didn't read thru all of this thread. Sorry if someone already touched on this point. THE THINGS PEOPLE KEEP SAYING HE DID ((((ALL OF THIS IS IN THE PAST))) BEFORE 1999, YES HE DID A LOT OF THINGS THAT WAS NOT NICE. (((((BUT HE IS NOT THE SAME PERSON HE WAS THEN AS HE IS 2DAY))) HE NOR ANY OF US CAN CHANGE THE PAST BUT FOR SURE IMPROVE GOING FORWARD.

I mean why do some people keep going backwards. I sure we all did things in the PAST. He has totally changed sense then. LET it go people.

Going forward will he always do things the way we feel he should, No. That's not for anyone to say. The point is that he's improved his way of thinking and treating others.

They told their side of the story. It always two!

I love Prince...I hate Prince...the saga never ends!

sure, the man has a right to his opinion. Prince, reportedly (none of us norms were there to confirm) has done some crappy things in the past. But if that aspect didn't add to his mysticism and your intrigue, then I don't know what else could, in my opinion.

That's the duality of the human being in general. Everybody would love it for their celebs to be great people as well as major talents, and that is rarely EVER the case.

People will be like "I don't watch so and so because they cheated on their wife". Now while this is a totally different scenario, it is all the same. What difference does it make? Being enraptured in infidelity is not enough of a a reason to me to hate you or not support, ya know?

So, yes, in a ton of cases, I'm sure Prince has done people wrong. But when that LM-1 gets sparked up and the Oberheims are blasting it's faux-horn power, I kinda just don't care.
