What Is The Prince Album That Means The Most For Where You Are In Your Life?

I just bought a bunch of Prince CDs that I have never heard before, but I have to say that the one I listen to over and over right now is "Come." Every song on it speaks to me and the music hits all the right notes... In the 90s, it was the "Gold Experience" that spoke to me, before that it was several albums--"1999" was a highlight... But now, I am older, and some of P's other albums speak to me more about life and what music means to life than other ones... What is the Prince album that captures your experience right now as far as it relates to music--because, to me, music is the "soundtrack" of your life! cool

Honestly it would have to be "LotusFlow3r." Keeping up with the most recent Prince cd.

It is always this lingering last cd that keeps you looking down the line to another cd...all of Prince's music adds meaningful songs to your collection of memories and sentimental songs. cool

Back in the day it would have been "PURPLE RAIN" - i played that in2 the ground. Now it's anything Live! these days i think Prince is better LIVE than on record.

Prince wrote so many meaningful songs over the years and I always find a few songs that are meaningful to me on every album. Sometimes I have to listen to a song more than once or read between the lines before I can really appreciate it musically and lyrically.
Prince has always been an artist who is able to express himself unrestrained and in a very intimate way and that's why I find meaning in most of his songs.

Practise what you preach and give one yourself.

And please change your signature it's boring.

I have to say after listening critically, I think I agree with you... There is an energy and a synthesis to the music in his live performances which makes even the songs you don't like as well on studio albums sound terrific live!

Right now, it would be Emancipation, Disk 2 or Graffiti Bridge (but specifically the songs 'Question of U' 'Joy in Repetition' 'Thieves in the Temple' and 'Still Would Stand All Time' from Graffiti Bridge..).

"LotusFlower", for what it stands for; a middle aged guy who still has the hunger to create. When I'm 64 I want to give all the youngins a run for their money too.
And even his lesser work is allways better than what comes out of the hands of all the other players working their way in the age of superficial.

I know that "Parade" is considered a masterpiece, but it brings back some bad memories about living together with an ex-boyfriend; that album was his favorite.

And I love "LoveSexy", more than "Around the World in a day" that is also considered a fine work of art here.
