Ever since I read the first bio I had on you which was full of how you treated your friends and coworkers I've been disgusted with you. Being a Native American, respect for others is important and you showed none to anyone. Others see only the glamor, me, I recall all the little unknown anectdotes of how you stole music from the guys around you, how you borrowed your "cousin" Chazz' drum set and wouldn't return it saying "i'm a star now I don't have to do anything". Or how about how you drop kicked the 18 year old Brown Mark onstage when he broke a couple strings. You have nothing but burned bridges and hateful people in your past. Most all say very bad things about you and feel used and abused. You were cruel, mean, vicious and selfish. You complain about the record companies yet you have demeaned and exploited everyone you've ever worked with. You treat your fans like crap and have lost most of them over the years. The list goes on and on...

If someone had P's personality and behavior but had average looks and no talent, none of you would give a damn about that person. I'm often amused how we treat celebrity in this country, it's like they're gods or something, you know they don't need any more adulation, in fact, they usually don't want anymore. Why can't we give a little more "love" to people who actually need it in our society?

I completely understand your point. You're saying that Prince wasn't so nice to the people who were with him either when he was just starting out, or when he was at his peak.

Most of the people you talk about would come running if Prince said he wanted to work with them again. Examples being The Revolution and Carmen Electra.

Some would run to the tabloids or write a book after their experience to cash in. Like Chick.

The rest would just go on about their lives and careers.

I say people who take everything literally are not very smart people. You haven't read very much of this or the other thread. Band members fight, Chazz was not his bandmember at that time, he was just a friend who let him use a drum set. Prince jerked him around for a job in his group, as he did to Sonny (Thompson?) and many others. Wasted their time and so forth. I'll put it this way, Prince does have many, many people in his past who dislike, if not hate him. Mark, to this day, still speaks ill of the man, after 25 fucking years! Now that's some real sense of being wronged. And at the time, none of them wanted to quit because they figured they had a shot at the big time which most of them never came upon again afterwards. Suffice it to say, Mark's bitter statements in now way shocked me, although I believe some of them were just inaccurate factually or otherwise a matter of opinion.

Yeah and this is about the millionth time i've heard people call other "idiots" or say it's "the worst thread" statements online. People have a way, it's neurotic actually, of avoiding a subject they may find averse to them by doing all those things.

The whole simple point is, and I'll spell it like a two year old so this thread can die. Prince is a hero, I think he's a genius, I think he has some great qualities, I also think he is a very cruel, controlling, unbalanced person who I wouldn't ever want to meet or have in my life. I still recall all the dissapointment as a child practically reading about him.

Just unusually bad to the people around him. Sure, we all are sometimes, but here we have a guy just wacky as hell and everyone tolerates it because of a lil' money and a lil' power. If he tried alot of those things on me or a lot of other people he would have went down on his ass, which according to rumour, he may have at times.
