You don't know Prince, you are merely reduced to 'anecdotes'. Some people would have some very interesting 'anecdotes' about me, and I'm sure you for that matter.
These anecdotes are difficult to verify. There are two sides to every story/conflict and we are hearing only one. Your 'hating' Prince without justification nor being in proximity to him, strikes me as being unbalanced. No person on earth is perfect or 'all good' or 'all bad'. Each has their own personal issues to work through. Spitting venom at Prince here won't change anything. | |

Look, I don't like a lot of the things Prince has done over the years and I'm sure he'll do more things in the future that will make me shake my head but there's a lot more things that he's done that I love and I'm sure there will be more stuff that I'll love from him in the future. It's the stuff that I love that make me fan that I am. Besides, I don't know him personally to hate him. If you wanna hate him, then that's you but all hating anyone is going to do is hurt YOU, not the intended target, which in this case is Prince, so it does no one any good to "hate" Prince or anyone else for that matter. I totally understand. It kinda goes hand in hand with a thread about him being the man you love to hate.
Musically and artistically speaking..you gotta love him. But on a personal level... dont really care for him. He has screwed over numerous people. Pitched tantrums, delivered crap for albums just to fill a contract he wasnt pleased with that HE signed and so on and so on. But on the other hand...we're addicted to the guy. There's a gentleman who recently had a sticky who used to work for Prince, I wrote a message to him saying "fuck Prince, if he didn't have so many people around kissing his ass all the time he couldn't get away with all that stuff". Yes we all have quirks, yes we all are human but there comes a time when we are being bastards and we need to be called out on it. None of us should be exempt from that. Some of you see Prince as some guru or cult leader, that's not right. I had a seperate post written about "love" but being as so many of you gushing fanatics start so many of those threads it was locked and I recieved a message saying "we have enough of these" from a mod. This thread was left open for whatever reason. Only a person deep in denial would dismiss all the things that Prince has done and the things his former workers say about him. There are enough common threads throughout all the stories and the way he jerks his fans off to get a composite of what kind of man he is. It's not all Prince's fault, the yes men and sycophants around him have fried his brains for years along with the fearful employees and fanatical fans. I'm not asking or expecting for him to change and you guys are missing the point of what I was even trying to say but that's ok. | |
