I just got this in from a no-name reporter regarding’s Prince TV Appearance from earlier this week and wanted to share:



STRAIGHT FROM THE SOURCE: THE STOOL PRINCE WAS USIN ON THE LE GRAND JOURNAL WAS A PROP, NOT A CRUTCH. LOL THE SONG WAS CALLED DANCE 4 ME, NOT WATCH ME DANCE 4 U. HE WAS GONNA USE A LAZY BOY OR CHAISE LOUNGE BUT THERE WASN’T TIME OR SPACE.

AFTER VIEWING THE RUN THRU, IT WAS DECIDED THAT THE STOOL LOOKED FLY SO IT WAS KEPT IT IN THE SHOW. BESIDES, ULTRABUSY LEAD SINGERS R ALL OVER TV THESE DAYS AND DUDE JUST WANTED 2 PLAY THE GUITAR AND LET THE AUDIENCE’S EYES FOCUS ON THE DANCERS WHO DID AN XCELLENT JOB DANCING 4 EVERYONE. LOL BTW…. DID ANYONE C THE LONG VERSION OF KISS FROM THE SATURDAY NIGHT GRAND PALAIS CONCERT AND CARE 2 COMMENT?”

Thanks for sharing. You know, I always thought if Prince made a video for “Dance 4 Me”, he should be sitting down watching people dance 4 him, where you just see his singlasses or mouth or sometimes just his heel, so you know it’s him and you get to see glimpses of him but the people dancing for him don’t. Just my idea.

As for that long version of “Kiss”, ahem, anyone have video out there we could share? You know you gotta love the french “Kiss” so don’t front.-Dr.FB

Why do I giggle every time I see the words Prince and stool in the same sentence? Let's call it a chair.

He shouldn't waste time refuting internet debate. Before we know it there will be a whole slew of these things refuting squirrelgrease's Purple Fact series. Where will it all end? I can believe he didn't need the stool. He seems to be okay when he stands in one place. It's when he walks or moves about that he seems to need support, like the cane.

I don't get the "Kiss" comment at all. Is that from Dr. F or from the "no-name reporter"? Odd that he's encouraging us to go look for a bootleg.

Its cool, the man is getting older, no need to for anyone to defend it or explain it.
When he is singing on a stool with a martini in one hand and a cigarette in the other slurring his words, is when we will know he really went Vegas. Right now its just age catching up to him.

Has anyone seen Sly Stallone's new trailer for his new movie? At 108 the man looks healthy as an ox that could kick third world army ass!

But funny, I never ever saw the dancers. I was focussing on the guitar, Prince and Shelbey and after a few watches, the medusas moving up the background screen

btw, I didn't see any medusas...only jellyfish,

there is something wrong with his legs, kevin smith confirmed it, wendy and lisa did and you can see he was actually using the walking stick to walk in that recent hotel interview. whether that was what the stool was for = probs not. i think he always performs and thinks about his health later.

i hope he fixes it tho.

I think the P camp should be aware that we all actually do care about the health of our Man. Whilst we may bitch and moan about the artistic side to varying degrees not a single one us would wish him any harm. Talking of which, think about this , if P is having to work through the pain barrier on a daily basis to keep recording and doing live shows and keeping the show going maybe we should just be a little less critical of him and appreciate what we have.
Clarity from the P camp would be welcome but I wouldn't hold our breath, all we can really do is wish him well.

i would have never took another thought at this had "he" not released a statement. there must be some validity to the rumors. thats sad.

There was an interview recently, in which, he was standing the entire time without the support of the cane. In fact, when he told the reporters he wrote "dance 4 me" about himself, he pointed the cane at the reporters. A prop.


In fact, could/would a man who needed a cane to simply walk do this?






Seems to me, a man with severe hip problems wouldn't be getting much air/hangtime, much less attempt jumping while playing guitar.

Ummm maybe its because he needs double-hip surgery and he LEANS on it when he walks, instead of using his 'pimp walk' like he did previous years. If that and the pictures of him wearing platform-sandals with white socks doesn't convince you, you're hopeless.
