I think the problem here is that Prince has never 100% conformed to any religion that he was part of.

That's not true. He's said "I'm a Jehovah's Witness". He even said that on Tavis when the subject of President Obama was brought up, I believe. If not that, then others. He's definitely talked about it.

In fact, wasn't it the same article where he said he was "celebate, and sexy" that he stated he's a JW?

You contradict for the sake of it. Imago is saying that Prince has his own slant-he's gone back to sexy persona even tho he has stated he is a Jehovah Witness-I could say I'm black but it wouldn't be true. I'm sure many J|Ws would argue that Prince has his own take

Listen bucko, I don't know what your problem is, but I'm not contradicting for the sport of it. Imago made a statement, and I refuted it. There was an article posted two days ago from a French magazine or paper or something, and Prince plainly said he was a Jehovah's Witness. If you have issue with that, call Prince. I'm stating the truth. If Imago wasn't aware of it, that's fine. Maybe he missed it along the way, but I saw it, I remember it, and I stated it. Open your eyes.

Here, let me quote the question and answer for you, so you can calm the hell down.
This freedom does have a price?

If I am for freedom in all things, we must also know not to go too far. That's why I belong to Jehovah's Witnesses. They help me balance my life ,give me a purpose in life and offer me a worldview.

See that? See how that works? I wasn't trying to piss on Imago. I was offering an alternative to what he knows. It's called information. Love it?

Here's the link to the whole interview for you. That's how nice of a guy I am. http://prince.org/msg/7/321407

Keep your pants on, ernest. What's this discussion all about ?
Whether Prince is or is not a "good" Jehova's Witness ?

Come on, I know many Christians, Muslims, even Buddhists that do not follow their religion to the letter. I doesn't mean they are hypocrites.

They just don't try to be "holier than the pope", to use a catholic metaphor.

You didn't read what I posted, so let me review: Imago said, "I think the problem here is that Prince has never 100% conformed to any religion that he was part of." Simple right? My response was just as simple, "(Prince): If I am for freedom in all things, we must also know not to go too far. That's why I belong to Jehovah's Witnesses. They help me balance my life ,give me a purpose in life and offer me a worldview."

Look, I just want Prince to keep it real with his music. If Prince is in a place where he wants to sing about the Lord and the music is bangin, I'm gonna be right there. If it's about sex and he's really feeling that, I'm gonna be right there too. I just want Prince to come from the heart with what he's singing about.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Yes BUCKO- Imago said CONFORMED-you are reading it as CONFIRMED. Nobody doubts Prince has confirmed he's a JW-what Imago is saying that Prince will always be Prince and no way doe she come acrossas a conventional JW. You are always contradicting people even when you are wrong so as you would so typiacally and pompously say

Hi Org...We've had some discussion in the past about Prince's music/lyrics no longer having the same raw emotional energy it once did. Could this be that sex, parties, and the ways of the world have lost their appeal? How many songs can a brother write on those topics and not start to get stale after 30 some years? My point is this: Prince likes to make a point in his interviews regarding the importance of God and the Bible in his life--If this is truely his passion why doesn't it come out more in his music? I know he did the rainbow children thing which kind of goes down that road. But what if he humbled himself and fully poured out his love for God, Jesus, and the Holy Scriptures into an intimate and deeply personal gospel/Christian album? I think it could be really special. What do you think?

God is his musical inspiration

u can hear this all through many

of his songs like purple rain,

sometimesitsnowsinapril, adore, etc.

i do agree that a full showcase of

his love for God on 1 entire album would

be awesome

Currently Prince cannot make a Christian album. He is a JW. :\ People here seem to not know the difference.

But you can complile your own Christian selection if you take the at least 1 or 2 Christ inspired soneg that are guaranteed to be on each of his albums. Put em on one playlist, and there you go, here is one:

The Ladder
Gold
The Cross
The Holy River
7
Live 4 Love
Purple Rain
I would Die 4 U
Paisley Park

Well there are 9 I know there are more but I am drawing a blank right now.He uses both "Those who want to go" in BOTH Gold and The Ladder. These are 10 years apart, yet in both cases I think he was referring to Christians. (Those who want to go to be with the Lord in the end).

You will all have to make your own I guess, until he changes his heart (again).

Its really hard for me to listen to them though, knowing he doesnt believe them anymore. Bittersweet for me really.
No matter the ©️, Paisley Park "official can never ™️ prince. He gave that to us verbally on Oprah in 1996. You can't take prince away from us, corporate. I mean O ( + >

Yeah, that's exactly how I read Imago's post. Everyone knows that Prince is a serious JW, but he's obviously making his own rules too. No need to get aggressive.
