PRINCE @ RTL Oct 12th 2009 Just back from the RTL studio next to the Grand Palais .
100 people , competition winners and guests waited 90 min outside before getting into the Grand Studio. There are seats , it was a rush to get the best seats as Prince , 3 backing vocals girls and fred on harmonica were already on the stage. The first people in barely took their seat that Prince started the first song so the people in the back missed part of it. The place was packed. Less than 9 min later it was all over What 9 min ? Yes sir, only 9 min. In case nobody noticed Prince told us that he was playing for free and that he should use his hat (nda : to collect money ). Conditions were perfect , the girls from the first row were so close to him that they could have shake his hand. Come on man ! just 9 min !!! I know there is some commentary in other locked threads, but I thought there were some statements by Prince that were particularly striking:
They were very respectful. We asked that no one used camera phones and they honoured that request, unlike Americans who are so obsessed with technology. We don’t like to have our concert filmed that way because it sounds so bad and then you give all the footage to somebody like YouTube who is run by Universal Publishing, and some of those same lawyers.

Ummm yeah Prince because as we all know you raged one of your recent, most loudest battles against internet sites like Housequake.com and Piratebay.org which are ummm American-based??? NOT And the leading bootleg labels are American, right? Yeah right I don't think so. I know his religious beliefs provide him a transnational theocratic framework for the world, but the "Americans don't respect intellectual property rights" meme is BUNK! Get off that Prince, not only is it tired, but your own experiences should tell you that national chauvinism either pro-/anti- are unfounded.
