When I refer to "ONE" fan being true or not "one" is not particular and does not necessarily refer to you. You are free to interpret "one" how you wish. You were responding to my comment when posting this. Why would I think otherwise? Bohemian67 said: 3. The word "could" implies possiblity, why do you get so angry? Ummm...I'm not angry. I said I was a pissed off consumer. Why is your wording dodgy? Bohemian67 said: 4. In a world full of people who illegally re-distribute bootlegs etc, Prince/ Prince/Paisley must be psychic and know that YOU are not one of them? Christ enough with the hyperbole please. Of course not. Your comeback here is ridiculous. Bohemian67 said: 5. So YOU changed pcs, had licence transfer issues because a server doesn't exist anymore but it's Prince/NPG/Paisley's fault? I admit, frustrating. Your use of capitals aside, a businessman who was aiming to look after his customers, when selling them a product that required maintenance from a server, would maintain the server. I'll elaborate but only because I think you're still missing my point. The DRM in the downloads was programmed in a way that if the music was transferred from one pc to another, it would contact the server to verify it was a valid copy. Upon verification, the download would then be playable on the new computer. When I transferred to the new computer, Media Player was unable to verify the download as being legitimate (as it was, since I have the email receipts) because the server was no longer valid ie it had been removed. Of course it's not my fault. It was DESIGNED that way. In effect, it was designed to ONLY be playable after verification. The fact that the NPG Music Club was shut down without maintaining the server shows a lack of customer care. How can you not see that people would have a gripe with that? If you don't understand the reasoning behind those who are frustrated with the above situation, perhaps a little bit of reading into the Sony JP/DefSTAR Labelgate debacle back in 2003 would open your eyes a little to the lack of business ethics behind DRM and other such backfired attempts to control the usage of purchased media. Bohemian67 said: 6. Paris ticket sales reflect the effectiveness of Prince's business model, along with many other things which I won't bore you with. Your reference to Prince's business model was that it was "ineffective." I disagree. Why do you disagree? Logically the sale of tickets for a concert or series of concerts is not a business model (obviously only a portion thereof)...tell me how I'm wrong.... Honestly, how many threads do we need on the same subject over and over again? Do people really not know if you ignore people they will go away? Instead of focusing on the negative and letting it ruin your time here, ignore those posts and keep on keepin' on. When I read people going on being negative, I just roll my eyes and skip over those posts. I used to hate when people said you should have a thicker skin but now I am a firm believer in it. Prince does not need defending.
I hate he even acknowledged the "haters" on the internet. He is even feeding the negativity.

I hate he even acknowledged the "haters" on the internet. He is even feeding the negativity. Yeah, you're right. I normally just ignore these types of threads but this one started out well and I thought I'd contribute. It would be nice to be understood and be able to have a discussion about it, but yet again it seems to have veered to the "extreme" side. Not my intention at all. If you take it as aggressive that's entirely up to you, of course. I did use the words 'silly' and 'ridiculous'. Hardly aggressive but fairly truthful when faced with a lack of logic. I'm truly sorry you think so..... Just to confirm, my comments were not regarding people upset over some dubious buisness practices and feeling ripped off or what have you. It was mainly about online fans (which in general I don't think he has a fond affintity for, for whatever reasons lol) and the non objective attitudes. Most have been big Prince freaks but try to fit in with those who are down on Prince to belong to something. They know who they are and you know who they are. Peace out lol.

Fams... I dunno. i dont understand you lot. I come to this forum maybe 2 or 3 times a year just to catch up and find out if there is anything new I may wanna download. I used to buy everything but these days, with Prince, I try before I buy and the last thing I tried and went on to buy was 3121.
Prince's music has been rubbish for many years now. Im surprised that he still has so many blinded sheep following his every move. I guess that is the nature of celebrity. Personally, I will continue to download his music for free until I find something worthy of paying for. In the meantime I will follow the progress of other artists whom I find much more creative and compelling than Prince. To the fams - Prince is not god. He is not the second coming. He is a talented musician who lost his mojo with age, as do most artists. Live with it and stop crying every time someone comes out and says it. It really does make you look insane when you blindly defend the man in such a consistently tedious way. Its called obsession and should be dealt with by a proffessional. To Prince - just do what you do (did) best and write some good fucking tunes and distribute them in a simple and coherent manner. Scrap this misguided idea that people are willing to pay to join a premium website. those days are over. Put it all on iTunes and go with the flow. You will get enough sales and enough concert goers to keep you in the lifestyle you have become accustomed to, so forget about the stuff that slips through the net. To the haters - Try before you buy. The more people that do that, the more an artist would be pressured to releasing a product worth buying. To get Prince out of his auto-pilot mode we should all apply a try before you buy policy. His shit records will not be bought by many, his good ones would. This is the beauty of the internet - like clothes stores, you can try on whatever you want before you part money for it.

I got front row tickets there and aftershow tickets and had a soundcheck and even met the guy because of there. People coming and complaining over not being able to still play files from there baffles me because the kind of files they were was said from the get-go. Now, I joined the new site not knowing what I was getting and I was fine with that BUT don't turn around and offer what I paid for to someone for free. His business models suck. Not opening your mouth to your customers sucks. Why people excuse that, I have no idea but I think if it were anyone else than Prince, they'd be pissed the hell off.
