However it should be noted that "I Hate U" wasn't the last actual song to hit the Top 10 on that US R&B chart. "Betcha By Golly Wow!" hit #10 on the same chart.

I'm going to go off track for a minute and touch on something here: "Betcha" hitting #10, back when downloading songs on the internet wasn't quite as popular, or even feasible (simply because of the lack of broadband, and things like Napster not existing, etc), was a decent feat. It also shows that promotion for, and BY, Prince works. He sat down, and removed a lot of the mystique he had created around himself. He talked to Oprah, he talked to Chris Rock, he made video, he took a new turn on acknowledging his life as a musician and as a pop icon, his marriage, and his unborn child in a public and celebratory way. Although Emancipation had its set of flaws, he made it personal to him. He explained that disk 2 was love songs to Mayte. Mayte said it was one of the most romantic things he's done for her. He talked about why he chose to do covers on an album, and why he picked the ones he did. And an old song like "Betcha" or "La La Means I Love U" hit a good nerve w/ older listeners who remembered those songs when they were teenagers or in their 20's. It brought his audience closer, parents and children.

He wasn't talking about Jehovah, stauros, preaching how his religion is the only religion, or how The New World Translation is the only Bible to read. No, he talked about himself, and how he translates his life into music. I was proud of Prince during this time, in a new way. I love the down to earth yet classy way he carried himself.

So whether you like "Betcha" or not as a cover, it did chart, and he worked that album. (I think it had more life in it, but alas.)

So the last two songs Prince had in the Top 10 in the US were "I Hate U", and "Betcha By Golly Wow!" (an interesting paradox of songs too, if you think about it.)

I looked, and from what I found, the song hit #120 on the US chart, and #44 on the US R&B. The highest it got anywhere was #19 in Norway. Lotta promomtion, but no one was buying it, literally.

Also, "I Hate U" and "Betcha By Golly Wow!" did not reach the top ten on "the same chart." "I Hate U" reached no. 3 on Billboard's Hot R&B singles chart. "Betcha By Golly Wow!" was not released as a commercial single in the U.S., which made it ineligible for the main R&B singles chart (due to existing chart rules at that time). It reached no. 10 on Hot R&B airplay, a separate component chart.

And if we're not specifying which chart, you're still incorrect. "Call My Name" topped the Adult R&B chart in 2004. I believe he also scored a top ten on that chart with "Future Baby Mama." If you're going to nitpick, nitpick all the way...
