Prince is one of the only big players in the industry who has maintained his integrity and kept it about the music...

I found the ones in previous years just as tasteless.

I astounded me that part of their comedy routine was to make fun of people in the audience. I mean those seats the stars/musicians are filling are very expensive, and to get all dressed up and ready for this event only have someone ridicule you on stage is just crass.

And to make it worse, the categories are just silly. I like the rock n roll craziness of the event to some extent, but ultimately it should be about rewarding people for hard work, and introducing musical acts to wider audiences--MTV fails on both counts most of the time.


I didn't even watch this one.... just youtube clips here and there. And from what I saw, it was remarkably bad.

And the host sucked major ass.
