O(+> at the Palladium(NYC) 7/13/1994

prince performed to a packed club and tore it up. I was one of the lucky people to actually get a ticket and witness him playing previously unreleased tracks. I remember when Shhh... started playing this girl standing above me started running her fingers through my hair and kept doing that for the rest of the show! Fantastic night and great memories. I'm reminiscing because i just copped the show on CD and put it on my iTunes for tomorrow.

Did anybody else here get to see this show? What are your memories of it?

Sounds like she had more than a good night out at a Prince concert on her mind....

She or he wanted to him to play a song she/he wasn't supposed to have heard. Remember it was 1994. I didn't know anything about it until the day after the show and I was wishing I had gone to the show, even though I was 15 at the time. That was such a very interesting period of time where Prince is concerned.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I wasn't at this show, but I was at the second of the two shows in MPLS that summer. I think the one I attended was the first time he ever performed Gold in public.

This was actually my first Prince concert, and I still remember being blown away. That stage set was just crazy looking, and Mayte and him had some great stage chemistry.

the encore of lenny and vernon was the next night on the 14th
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

That's a pretty cool setlist. I miss the days when Prince was excited about his new material.

The Palladium wasn't designed for a show like that. It was great being that close but it was a drawback concerning the sound.

I haven't heard the bootleg....but I assume the sound was corrected.
Being there Live was another story.
It was a fun show, and I was totally hip on being as close as I was 2 O{+>.....and hearing new songs at the time was a huge plus.

i was there.... My very first Prince show in NYC... and i was at the Tower Records signing i believe the day before ... I told him I understood what he was doing... and he pulled down his sunglasses and say "hmmmmm" and i said again... I understand man. he said thanks. Man what an amazing story. he and the band all signed this magazine that they gave me when entered. I was so excited. and after wards when he was leaving a girl asked me who was in there and i told her o(+> and she freaked out because they weren't letting anyone else in... so i gave her my magazine that everyone signed.

it was ALL ABOUT LOVE4ONEANOTHER back in the day.

one of the best experiences i have had in nyc.
i went to both shows.
when lenny came out on stage... there was this girl who left and as i looked at her some one said... Thats Lisa Bonet. im still not sure if it was her but it looked alot like her.

any how. great time.
