WE NEED A GUITAR HERO FOR PRINCE

No disrespect to Aerosmith, Metallica, and my group The Beatles, but the master needs a guitar hero game of his own. Think about! How many of us air guitared to some of P's classics like "Let's Go Crazy", "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man", "Cream", and of course "Purple Rain". This man has a huge library of music you can rock to. I say , who do we write to or e-mail to voice our opinion. If you agree with me then give me a 'HELL YEAH'! How many of you agree with me. Let me know. Peace!
Peace and be wild!

I agree with Prince when he said learning to play the real instrument is better. smile
I don't need Guitar Hero when I have my own guitar now that I'm going to learn to play. smile nod

I really think it'd kick ass, however, I agree it's better to learn the real thing. But damn, it would be fun. Fat chance of it ever happening tho.

eek Well somebody is going to have to tie the little man down and make it happen. I would TOTALLY get into that game franchise if he contributed. But then again, I think it's safe to say we can only dream of it. Y'all know how it goes concerning his image, his music.

However, this hasn't stopped most Prince fans who play the game. Isn't there a mode where you can download music and make it into custom levels or something? I'm quite sure fans and players have made up their own little Prince moments, then... wink They just haven't put them on Youtube because they'd get deleted and they'd lose their accounts or get the sound cut.

Alright, but there is more to these games now than just the fake guitars. The drumming (controller) and singing (microphone) parts would indeed be realistic.....

another career mistake. A prince version of Guitar Hero would help build a larger fan base. My kids love to play guitar hero and doing so listen to music they otherwise would never hear.

Yes Guitar hero would actually make them want to learn to play instruments too.

That can be said true however looka t how many thousands of kids want to learn to be ina band now. They year is not 1979 and we dont have the internet or video games to influence us. There is a entirely new generation with mass amounts of communication teqniques to learn about the past great artists. The Beatles Roockbad is definiltey going to be a huge seller and will expose the Beatles YET AGAIN to the next generation. If it wasnt for The Beatles Anthology I wouldnt have known really much anything about them at all.
Prince is going to be Prince but at the end of the day where all these producers are copying his music from Timbaland to The Neptunes, who are going to teach them the originator? The innovator? Does Prince know how much of a legend he is to r&b, pop, rock music? His Guitar hero would sell in the MASSES and would teach kids so much about him.

I agree with Prince where he says It's better that kids actually do learn how to play the guitar, but he doesn't realise that some people don't WANT to learn the guitar! All they want to do is play a fun video game with their friends every now & again. I wish Prince would do it, because it would get him back in the spotlight with the younger generation & show them how the guitar SHOULD be played!

Prince is right, but to actually inspire yourself to learn to play guitar, there must be some kind of click, motive to do that.
maybe guitar hero would motivate kids to learn to play

Call me crazy but I don't think anybody is wrong in this situation. Kids need to pick up an instrument if they want to play it that much, so Prince is right. For a lot of the people who play instruments, the desire to play came from seeing others play that particular instrument. With that said, there is no harm in kids having fun using his music and pretending that they are playing it (if this is what Guitar Hero is all about). Like people here have said, it may be the motivating factor in getting kids and even adults to picking up the guitar or whatever instrument. It's an interesting debate, that's for sure.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I'm really torn on this particular issue. On one hand, P is definitely right, kids should actually pick up guitars and learn 2 play them. On the other hand, I'm a realist - when P was 12, he had Hendrix, Zeppelin, Beatles and Santana 2 look up 2, when I was 12, I had other than P, Van Halen, Angus Young, etc. 2day what do these kids have 2 look up 2 guitarist-wise? At least, with the game GH exposes kids 2 both 2 P and the ideal of playing guitar, who otherwise would have no clue of P nor would care less. Since the coming of that game, guitar sells have increased plus artists showcased (ie. Guns n Roses, Aerosmith) record sales have increased in conjunction as well. However in respect 2 P, it's his music and if he doesn't want GH then so b it. My twocents.

For those kids that aren't going to bother to be dedicated to an intsrument, I do believe it would be a good idea to at least teach music appreciation through video games.

I do believe Prince should have a few songs to offer this game. cool

^nice list

Owning Guitar Hero I-IV and having played all of the games in the series as well as Rock Band, I do agree that one major thing missing is Prince. I would probably pay an exorbitant amount of money for Guitar Hero: Prince, heck even a set of Rock Band DLC would be more than awesome. The DLC approach seems more realistic than his own title, but that's not gonna happen either.

...but we must respect his wishes =/

I'll keep on jammin' with my air guitar.

I agree its cooler to learn the real thing but guitar hero is fun to play, and makes you do more than just pushing x o square and triangle. Some people have actualy started to learn real instruments because of playing GH. I know for my mom, she can't play real guitar because her fingers were cut in the middle so her hand so it is half close so she jams w/ me on guitar hero sometimes 'cause its only 5 buttons. I can play real instruments but I enjoy GH & RB. Plus it introduces people to different music & bands they may never have heard of. A Prince version would b dope but wouldn't happen.

He should at least allow one or two songs of his to be used in the game...guitar hero may not be teaching kids to play guitar BUT it can get kids into older music and artists who are way more talented than the rubbish we hear today. And let's face it, a lot of kids ain't gonna be able to get into Prince as he's barley on the radio or TV. I mean, I have friends who didn't even realise Prince was still about!

He's being too hardlined on an issue that he can use his power as a legend to manipulate. Flip the Script!. If he's that serious about it, donate a portion of the proceeds to music programs in area's that need it like New Orleans and actually put the disclaimer on the box, let people know that their purchase is helping kids get insturments. Do a commercial hyping it with a serious blurb at the end urging people to contribute to the next generation of musicians. Add Dreamer, Guitar and an exclusive Hard Rock single (only in the game) about the importance an beauty of actually playing-it will be the first single released through a video game!! and several weeks after the release ( and attention for the game single from ET,TMZ, Game Media etc) drop the download on itunes not lotusflowr3. This was not hard, and i trust prince is smarter than me about this shit.
