A Note to all the Regular Posters Here

What the new Prince represents: A gaudy fashion statement. Too rich to know what to do with his $$ but to write tunes about $ and his mansion and the house in LA. Wasn't an album not long ago dedicated to his big house. Haha, man the guy has really grown intellectually huh? Bet he reads a lot of philosophy and shit.

So you regulars, you hanging on to the "old Prince," the poor black kid who killed the stage?

Or R U into this new persona. The paparazzi aficionado, rolling out in his 100 thousand dollar car and his new chic sidekick, hanging out in the trendiest LA club (only because its the trendiest), putting on shows for the "select" friends (mainly consisting of the most generic entertainment figures in LA), and in the meantime preaching POS religious principles.

For the 1st paragraph of visitors: WTF, the past is gone.

For the 2nd paragraph? Yeah, you know you make up the majority. This is why I visit, to laugh my ass off.

I love the flaunting of the money and the "I'm better than you" attitude that's he's always had. What I don't like is the bringing in of shit hop elements and slang in his music. And I don't like the type of guests he invites to his parties which are new artists. That's called "sleeping with the enemy".

It's fine to have a "I'm better than you" attitude. I'm all for it, and have that attitude myself. But have that attitude with other cool older artists, not current artists which are trash.
Andy is a four letter word.

I am the fan I am because of the music what he does outside of that is non of my business. I'm happy if he is happy and still making great music thats what counts everything else is just circumstancial.

There's a thread that is somewhat similar to this one already underway.

http://prince.org/msg/7/316358

Besides, we don't need anymore "Old Prince vs New Prince" threads polluting this place. rolleyes

lock lock
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Lol...Is it just me or did everything he just mention sound like the old Prince? Theres only 2 major changes in Prince..his religion and his ability to Dance. Other than that, hes the same. He's ALWAYS been arrogant, he's always done private gigs for "select" people, he's always flaunted his material things. He's the freak'n Ric Flair of the music industry. You either love him, or you love to hate him. Either way.. HE's THE MAN!
