C'mon guys, the Jar jar Binks thing was rude and uncalled for. She's a beautiful girl, regardless of what you think of her music.

The thing I like best is that he simply took your friends hand and lead her to the DJ booth. He was just another cool guy on the dance floor for a moment. I am happy for him that he still has some normal moments in public. Most of the celebrities seem to me like they only can let their hairdown with other celebrities and lots of bodyguards.

Yes, he was cool cool, cause that's him. It shines through his smile wink, as much as his shyness. Anyway, nobody was annoying him (his 2 bodygards were totally watching out anyway).
In the end, he is a human being too, and if you truly love & respect him, the least you can do is let him enjoy his moment of privacy. It is probably a curse not to be able to do things without having everybody staring at every move you make... and writing articles about how many times you went to the toilets on that particular night out. P. has been dealing with fame for a long time, and did a great job at protecting himself... by controlling as much as possible his public image.
But still, I wonder if sometimes he doesn't feel like he is in a golden cage...All these eyes on you... what a blessing cause they give you a reflection of your ideal self, but then what a terrible burden to depend on them and to always be approached as the "mega star"...I guess God is the only true friend in this case, and the only protection that keeps you from desintegrating in those mirrors...nuts

As Bowie used to sing:
Fame, makes a man take things over
Fame, lets him loose, hard to swallow
Fame, puts you there where things are hollow
Fame

Fame, its not your brain, its just the flame
That burns your change to keep you insane

ok, ok... I saw you already asked, sorry for not answering before, but I wasn't paying so much attention to his clothing... also because it was dark in the venue and you couldn't really distinguish the details.
From what I can remember, he was wearing a silver shirt & matching pants (flare type), and the fabric was glittering. Jewellery, high heels boots,of course, and the same hairdo he had in Montreux... His make-up was just amazingly well-done...and his perfum sweet as the summer night in Montecarlo.
Sexy & glamorous, as you can imagine kiss2 batting eyes

Thanks for your reply Stella. I have run into famous people from time to time when I lived in Atlanta, New Orleans and Provincetown. I somehow always gave them distance. I have found that the famous are like butterflies. The more you chase them the more they run away. I walked several blocks behind Norman Mailer as he walked and talked with his schoolage daughter and saw a bit of the concerned father in him. I waited on Jane Seymour and let her do all the asking of questions and ended up having a long conversation with her because she was always the one to pull me over the table. Jennifer Holiday was also fun to wait on. She and her friend Robin use to ask for me at a restaurant I worked at in the 90's. If you leave them alone they'll feel comfortable opening up around you. Unfortunately I saw some people act like fools in other situations. When I worked at Nordstroms one of the salesgirls chased down a group of VERY tall men to ask them what basketball team they played for, well obviously if you don't know who they played for maybe you shouldn't leave your own department just to say hello.

I just came back from Monte Carlo...Where I attended the most perfect concert I have ever experienced.
Prince and the band were fabulous. Extraordinaire. He sang like an angel. The Opera was the perfect jewel case for such a precious inspiration. The sound was limpid, clear like a diamond. Each note was perfectly echoed by the room, creating the most delicate yet powerfull net of vibrations. Magical is the word.
Words cannot express what impact such an atmosphere has on your soul and mind. So inspiring and so wild.Poetry could, but at this time of the night, I prefer not to try. Let alone the fact that I have nothing in common with any of the poets that would have the talent to find the words that would sound like Prince music.
The set list has already been described... you all know about it.
The second show ended with 30 people dancing around P., on stage.
Then, somebody turned the lights up. The sound couldn't be heard anymore, but the vibes were still there

rainbo

Some VIPS were there: Elton John was sitting just next to me, with his husband, Prince Albert was dancing like crazy in his private balcony. probably other people, but I don't know much about that kind of stuff...didn't bother.

There was no aftershow, but P. showed up with Renato at the Jimmy'z, the supposed "place-to-be" around Monaco...actually more of a show off and tacky venue, full of russian babes wearing heels so high that even P. couldn't handle it, not to mention the fact that the dj was doing a very good job at playing all the most boring and commercial tunes that have been inflicted upon us during this last 20 years.
anyway, I went there at 2h30 cause they told me that P. played there the night before. So there I was, bored2.... waiting.
At some point, the dj suddenly played "off the Wall", and "dance 4 me"... I jumped on the dancefloor, too happy to hear some groovy music. I was so excited about dancing, that I didn't even notice that P. had finally arrived, and was dancing a few steps away. Believe me, I don't drink alcohol, and don't do drugs. He is so tiny... like air, so delicate....balloons Is he desintegrating? I say that, and I am myself 1.62 and petite... so I wonder what a normal guy might feel next to him!!!
Anyway, I didn't notice him (can u imagine that, not noticing P. next to U?)
When the 2 good tracks ended and the crappy music started again, I went to my friends and told them I was leaving cause I couldn't stand the place anymore.
That's when they told me that P. had arrived, and was dancing next to me
eek
So I walk towards his table, wawered and smiled at him. He wawered and smiled back, in a very nice manner. batting eyes Believe it or not, he sounded shy...So funny, it was like saying hi to a friend, a VERY SEXY friend kiss2 cloud9
.
Short after that, P. got sick of the music too. He walked to the dj's cabine and asked him to play some funky stuff. That's how, thanks to P., I could dance again, and so was he!I was dancing next to him., couldn't believe it. excited
He was with a female friend, kept it quiet and cool, mingling with the rest of the people (well, the 4 cats who endured the dj's performance up to that point). 2 bodygards were watching, but nothing to worry about.
I was more molested by drunken guys than P. by a crazy weirdo.
biggrin
Good things don't last. Dj went back to his bad habits... and everybody sat down. As P. was passing by my friend, she asked him if he could do something about the music. He took her gently by the hand and went with her to ask a change of sound again... They should have shoot that guy. He had no clue.

Thank to him, the music got better, but it was late, and soon after P. disappeared... like he arrived...discretly.

I must say that I personnaly got sick of M.C. after one day. My head was spinning, too many yellow ferrari driving around and around and around, yachts sailing up&down... What a circus. But the show has been a wonderfull experience, indeed.

worship

I know it was a privilege to attend such an event. Unique. Just wanted to share...
Sorry for my broken english... difficult at this time of the night, with only 3 hours of sleep
zzz wink
