GIMME YOUR LOVE- PAISLEY PARK REMIX

Aretha Franklin & James Brown recorded a duet called GIMME YOUR LOVE. It isn't a great song, I think. It is a real easy early '90's production, not too special sounding.

On the 12" and cd-single release it features a PAISLEY PARK remix though.
It runs through the entire song, just adding a somewhat phatter beat and then, after about 5 minutes (if I remember correctly) PAISLEY PARK just takes over.
PP stops the song, throws in an alarm sound and then turns it into a phat, funky jam.
The Prince voice throughout the extended part sounds like the one featured on Shortberry Strawcake by Sheila E.

Whenever I play GIMME YOUR LOVE, I always skip through the song and pick up at the alarm sound and then groove.

How known is this remix and, how much would it fetch on the circuit? Just curious.

And if you know it, what do you think about it?

The song is from Aretha Franklin's 1989 album 'Through The Storm'.I've never heard the remix by Prince. It would have been a better idea for Aretha and James to record a Prince-written song, and let him produce it as well. That would have been explosive!

Uhm, no.

This version was, I think, written by the musical horror of the 80's/90's Narada Michael Walden.
Did I remember his name right?

That's the man. I've not seen a copy up for sale for a long time, and because it is a Prince remix production it rarely gets mentioned in valuation lists that I have seen. I'll have a look in the 2002 Rare Record Guides in the bookshops under 'Brown' and 'Franklin' sometime soon.
ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
