This man still makes music when there's no reason to anymore besides his love for making music. I will admit that I don't hear the same hunger I did in the eighties material, but isn't that in line with human nature? He's 51 years old. Purple Rain part two will never happen. I'd rather see what WILL happen as he continues to make new music. It doesn't take away from what he's done, not even a little.

I don't love the new Prince, but I do love his music. Always have and always will. I liked Prince better when he was younger, nastier and much more interesting. This new Prince is insincere IMO. He is a hypocite in some ways and I don't believe his JW religion is what he truly wants. I know this is just my opinion and I don't know the man personally, it's just a vibe I get. I do believe Prince then and now is a decent, caring man, but he has lost his edge the past 10 years. He is still one of the finest musicians around, but I don't care for some of the things he does these days. I believe that his religion has confused him and made him much less tolerant and more judgemental.

I'm just a long time fan of his music though - what do I really know

Ladychel61, when people have gotten upset with mskqueen03's posts it is not because she's trying to express her love for God, it's because her posts are formatted bizarrely, allowing for difficult reading comprehension. See your post here isn't the same and it's easy to reply to it as there are sentences and points made and I'm able to address your points and respond to you.

Also, much of what she's written is fairly irrelevant to the thread and if she honestly wanted to communicate with people she wouldn't respond or post the way she does. I found your strings of emoticons similar to be honest. Words would be better. If she has such important things to say as you suggest, she would be doing everyone a favour by being coherent.

Please keep in mind that some also find preaching unnecessary and some others may even find it offensive. This is no disrespect to your religion but honestly, why preach when people aren't interested? Especially when this is the Prince, music and more forum and not the religion and politics one.

The refusal to write coherently, use of emoticons and childish attitude to others is condescending. (Edit - I'm not talking about you with this sentence)

If you go back and read this thread (congrats on a HUGE thread btw) you'll see that when I and others have responded to the actual topic of your thread, some of these comments were just glossed over for more rants by queen annd more strings of emoticons by yourself. This isn't actually a discussion. It's more akin to a high school playground with groups of young girls out-snarking each other.

I don't know if I necessarliy agree with the term "New Prince," he just evolved from the person he used to be, but underneath it all, it's still Prince. I love him because he is not afraid to be who is, athough there are some people who might not like it, To me, he seems more comfortable with himself than ever and is not trying to shock us to get our attention anymore. People change and they grow and by 51,most people know what works for them and what doesn't.
