not cut out the fight scene....

the barn scene should had been in the movie, Prince and Apollonia having sex,

otherwise it's very enjoyable movie,

I LOVE it.....

Probably not too much. It's pretty concise, expanding any side plots like the dynamic of the band or Jill's interest in The Kid might've just slowed down the pace of the movie.

I think it's hilarious that a song that Prince wrote from a little snip of instrumental music and apparently never rehearsed with the band can be so perfectly stunning, complete with harmony vocals and everything. Now THAT's improvisation

I remember reading the ORIGINAL script of Purple Rain it was alot darker, but also better then the final one. However, I didn't like the "rape scene", that was a little too extreme.

make them all take more acting lessons and cut out that "What do yooooou dream about" line or make her say it better. Also cast a black woman to play his mother.

Even though I love this movie to death, even I admit it could have went a better direction and you know it.

In my opinion, here's what would make PR better:

1) The rushing into a relationship between Prince & Apollonia it's just weird.

2) Am I the only one who was going WTF when the police had a chalk drawing of Prince's father's body despite the fact that he was still alive after he shot himself.

3) Needed a better director.

4) Better editing job- There were some very obivious editing flaws in this move that you can that the movie was never quite finished

5) As I said before, I am the only one who thought it was fucked up that Prince dedicated the song Purple Rain to his mentally unstabled, abusive father?

6) Get rid of the theme of slapping people.
There's more I could say but I rather here it from someone else.

I've had many o' relationships that were whirl-wind romances, though we liked the slapping oh and I never got a guitar, but I got an HD TV and a trip to Vegas and stay at Mandalay Bay! Anyways, point is, it can happen

Many things could improve it

Vanity should have stayed on, she would have been better than Apples and think the lovemaking would have been much more explosive.
Get Billy out of that dodgy ass Track Suit and hideous glasses (They were tacky by 1984, the outfit is more 1977 than 1984)
Given Morris even more sassafras and independence (I'm the only star in this town)
Make Prince a bit easier going with the Revolution, especially Mark, that cat just got treated like shit in the movie.
Made both of the Kids parents black instead of just one, what was he thinking, what ever happened to I am black and proud.
Got rid of the campy motorcycle
Made movie longer, perhaps Daddy could have died.
Filmed more scnes in the daytime, its just about all night, you think they live in Norway in December.
