Edited version of "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" on SOTT iTunes release?

Browsing through the Prince catalogue in the iTunes Store and I noticed that the long album version of "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" is replaced by the single edit version on the "Sign O' The Times" album.

No big deal, but just curious, is there any special reason for that?
