ACT I/II TOUR - Appreciation I must say after seeing some footage from the ACT II tour (well quite a lot) recently, I have to rate this as one of my fave prince tours.
I also found out something like prince had put out offers for fans to request the tunes as he was about to have an untimely "death" in 1993 with the warner dispute (?) But I love the rendition of some songs (when you were mine, raspberry beret, 1999 etc) Also absolutely love this look aswell, theres just something about this tour that signifies the end of the traditional prince concerts (before going to the new era dropping the hits and then onto the jazzy likes of ONA and then on to the "legend" status of the musicology and earth tour) what are your thoughts? AND MORE IMPORTANTLY CAN WE GET SOME PICCIES UP????

The Act concerts are for me the best concerts prince has ever given for the simple fact his voice was amazing!!!! It was so powerful! I donĀ“t know what was up with his voice but he was singing so powerful it was amazing. I miss the voice! [Edited 9/12/09 17:51pm]

2 August, 1993 : Sheffield - Sheffield Arena was filmed but never broadcast as planned. Prince showed footage at Paisley Oark during the first (2000) Celebration ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

One of his best tours ever

from the tours I've seen probably my second favorite one, with Lovesexy being #1 Has anyone tried unplugging the United States and plugging it back in?

I loved the music on this tour... but just don't like his look. The crazy hair and weird moustache didn't suit him in my opinion. It was ok on Act I in the states... but by the time he came to Europe the weird squiggley moustache had thickened and grown in size to resemble a massive hairy catapiller across his pale face. ----------
AND I GOTTA ALOTTA BUTTA 2 GO!

definitely Prince at his best. My all time favorite. Then comes 1999 tour, Hit and Run, Lovesexy.

I was there in London. I enjoyed it of course, but I preferred the previous tours which were centred around an album. This one (he did take requests before the concert) was more based on fan faves, which was a great idea but made for a less cohesive show.
It was my Mum's first ever rock concert and she had a blast!

Act II had sensational setlists (incl. The Beautiful Ones, Irresistible Bitch, She's Always In My Hair, The Cross, Sign O'The Times, Sometimes It Snows In April)... @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Prince performed in Italy in July, 1990 and, as a result of a contractual dispute and court order for attachment of earnings, he did not return again until the One Nite Alone tour in 2002. So it's a little difficult to understand how he performed as you suggest on an 'Act III' leg in Italy. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
