Controversy promo 12" 1993 Picked this up the other week as I thought it would be a cool addition to the collection. Is it rare? I couldn't find it for sale on eil.com or Yormeister. Wondered what it's approx value is?

Ahem well it wasn't cheap. I paid £20 for it but had to talk the guy down from £40 
I wanted it as a companion to my Pope\Pink Cashmere promo and it is in mint condition and I hadn't seen one before so I'm happy. If I paid over the odds so be it is a cool record. if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

I'd say that was a fair price. I also have the "Pope" 12" single and can tell you I paid quite a bit of money for it. The "Controversy" one I don't think is as rare and definitely not as collectable as the "Pope" one but still a very nice piece. Great pick up!  Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for. |

As far as I'm aware, the only really rare promo of "Controversy" is the French 12" promo from '81. I've never seen a copy of that in any better condition than VG, and I've only seen one copy of it anyway. | |
