I have to admit I am truly disappointed at this...why? How can you charge interest to your fans and make them pay more in the end for those who can't afford to buy it up front? I love Prince and respect what he has done for music over the past 25+ years but this is taken it to another level. I wish he would just tour the country and make his monies that way, he will clean up just like he did for the tour in 2004. That's all the fans want is for him to keep putting out great music and visit the road every so often....Peace and keep it righteous. | |

Stop dissing the Prince Opus. It's a high-end product and it's an honour Prince has been selected. he's the only individual rock star to have an Opus dedicated to him. There are only two individual sportspersons, Sachin Tendulkar and Maradona, whos will soon boast Opus books. It's okay for Shorty McPurplepants to allow his book to be bound in alligator skin. There's absolutely no issue with that because he's a vegetarian? "I won't eat meat and everyone else should do the same. But, as long as someone can slaughter an animal to make my book even more ridiculously and unnecessarily expensive...I'm good with that." I'm a vegetarian and am really opposed to the packaging on this thing. Now for Prince, being a vegan, to wrap it in skin is more hypocritical than I can poke a stick at. Don't consider myself a self-righteous, ignorant, hypocritical asshole though. it's insane that he would charge so much for something so commercial, but at the same time if i had the money to spend for such non-sense i would probably buy it. i don't think he's too concerned about those that can't afford whatever he puts out, because he knows that people will buy whatever it is.
