PRINCE HAS RETIRED (1978-2008)

There is no need for so many people to be angry at Prince. We are experiencing Prince in his retirement years. The music still rocks, but he does not have to prove anything anymore to nobody. I love Prince and his music. I love the website. I get it. He has retired. No more promotions, videos back to back, extraordinary tours or interactive websites. However, we all still get to hear and see a little of him during his years of retirement. Prince has done great work in the past and he still does great work. He has made a name for himself and i'm just glad that even though he has retired, he is still releasing music to his loyal fans. Thanx Prince.

so, if he's retired, why didn't he say the 77 $ was for his pension ? now I understand why the website is dead. we we're expecting something that we will never get.

eek So did he send you a personal note and told you to make an "official statement" that he retired? I mean, I do recall some of us fans seeing him perform in 2008, and there were other fans that recently saw him perform this year, ....so what say you dude?popcorn

Retirement is usually at the 30 year mark. If he retired in 2007, he was a year off.

Charging folks 77.00 for a yearly subscription to a useless website does not seem someone that has retired to me.
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Actually, if Prince retired in 2007, he would not have performed at all or release any new material after 2007. But, he has performed in 2008 and 2009, and released a cd in 2009. Now, unless he makes an official press release announcement about "retiring", then all that hearsay about Prince retiring, is just that.....hearsay chatterbox lol

we're very lucky to even have the two new albums when you think about, prince has sort of retired so i agree with the 1st post.

but who would really want the 51 year old prince still touring and knocking out videos? i wouldnt, it'd be too cringe worthy. its one off jazz concerts from now on..

Have you seen one of his concerts recently? He may not dance like he used to, but his singing and playing are better than ever.

Which is perfect for those of us who like him for...you know...the music.

Man im as mad as anybody about some current things-but these comments about him live are crazy

Probably part of why im mad-is i like Lotus-and its sooooo good for live stuff-man i thought he'd at least do a residency. I'd have been happy even if he did it only in the US-but not do anything..... sad

i dont wanna see him dance. I wanna see him Play his guitar-see him sing-hear him-but dance, the splits etc ? Selfishly-i've seen him do that many times before.

Rum and Raison you need to see him somewhere small like Indigo2 and afterwards-tell me your dissappointed cuz he didn't dance.....lol

I think it is more like semi-retired and for those of you who have not joined LotusFlower can you shut the hell up about already. I understand the anger of people who spent their money but everyone else needs to let it go already.

Yeah, and notice that the original poster has only this post, and has disappeared from his own discussion.

ALTHOUGH I really like most of what he/she says. I like the acceptance of NOW vibe and all, but the choice of the word "retired" is disturbing.

LOL at the 1993 article.

BTW: who were his lawyers before Londell? Why didn't he just sue them if he was so unhappy with the deal he had just signed.
