PRINCE record "BAD" out of Respect.

If and when they decide to do an all star MJ tribute cd Prince needs to record the song BAD out of respect for MJ. Prince spoke during the Chris Rock interview that the rumor of MJ asking Prince to sing BAD as a duet was true. Prince said the first line of the song was "Your butt is mine , now I don't know who's going to sing that two who , butt it sho ain't gonna be me !" The fact is Prince and MJ were friends and when this time comes around I think Prince should do the right thing. I think the Camille voice singing this song would be perfect. Prince , you wanna be startin somethin ?

Your right and plus if im sure prince would've came up with the words to do this duet the song would've boosted prince toward that MJ level and that single would've been more influential than it already is to some people. it would've changed the face of pop even more with the two biggest pop forces back then and more artist would've probably sight prince as a bigger influence than he is to most artist! biggrin
plus prince is a bad dude when it comes to music like that and different genres.the man is a musical einstein

My guess on why Prince did not do the song is because it sucks!

While an MJ/Prince collaboration might have been a cool thing, I've always been kind of glad a "Bad" duet never happened. While the song suits MJ, I think it would've been a cheese-fest as a duet between two effeminate dudes. lol

That fact everyone feels that Prince should do something out of respect is ridiculous. He seemed to convey any respect for Michael Jackson when he was alive so why should he now that he's dead. Respect something you either have for someone or you don't. Prince never seemed to take Michael seriously. With the media circus surrounding his death with every celebrity jumping on the bandwagon to show their love and support I don't see Prince jumping into the middle of that with his more private personality. When Liza Minelli is hanging out with Usher it's gotten too out of control. Prince is better off doing what he's been doing showing respect through silence. Any song or remake would be perceived as a joke.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

They would have been clowned for eons lol.

One thing I do like is the chicken scratch guitar that comes on with the secnd verse though. I think they did try to Prince-ify the track with that. Even though they got the chicken scratch sounding all 'thin and tinny.'

That video would've been a Gay Bar Happy Hour staple.

I don't mind the song itself. To me it fit what MJ was doing and he gets away with it cuz he was "MJ". I just think to make it a duet between them would've been disastrous (but funny).

I wonder how it would have changed the whole concept of what the video would have been. Probably just a straight filmed stage performance. No Wesley Snipes. No Weird Al's 'Fat'.."yo..ding dong..ding dong"
