"former" fans have every right to post as an obsessed fan. Just making some observations about the man and his music . I still like his earlier music. so you can get tired all you want of these so-called "bs" postings.

I wish that were true but you know that we will be standing next to these former fans at these shows and that's going to suck big time. Part of the fun in a Prince show is being around people who love or at least know the words to the majority of the songs that he does. From personal experience, I HATE being around folks that only dig certain periods of Prince's catalog cause when it's time for a new song to come out, they stand there looking like they belong in a morgue not a concert cause they don't know the damn song. I still have a great time but you can see the atmosphere change when that happens and it's terrible. I hope these former fans aren't around me the next time I'm at a Prince show. I'll be going buck wild for all the songs while they look lost in the sauce. Thank YOU for speaking the truth !!! or the ones who go because it's a place to be seen.I will continue to travel when possible to enjoy whats left of this experience and I know you'll be there too

I think some of the 'former fans' as they say, are in the mentality that Prince can do no right and are trying to convince me to share in their view, well I am sorry but I guess we differ in the definition of the word fan, forgive me bringing another side to the 'discussion'

I don't care if anyone else doesn't. I've already said i wish I could share some of you guys' enthusiasm.

I don't really see the quality of Prince's music dropping off being that big a deal.
Nobody is great forever. I'm a lot more forgiving of him not being as good a songwriter and musician as he was when he was 25. I'm not looking for "magic" when I listen to Prince albums. All I care about is if I enjoy the music or not. In Prince's case, I still do. Is it as good as Purple Rain or Controversy? No, but I'm O.K. with that. As far as his problems with the internet. I never took that shit personal, because it's not personal. It's just business. It's His business. There have been artists who have done things a lot worse than what Prince has done, and their music isn't nearly as good. Yet, people are a lot more willing to give them passes on stuff like that. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

Nobody is trying to convince you of anything, just posting some observations here. It is not "Prince can do no right". He can but chooses to do wrong anyways LOL. That is my opinion, and for "us who don't matter", that is just laughable and immature. Just trying to have a healthy discussion.

Not a fan anymore. But I love ?rince.org better. I may not like the man.
I may not like his music after the mid 90s. I respect his current artistry...I just don't like him. No hate.

I feel spoiled by Prince's Music, performances, interviews, all I associate with Prince is love and music and happiness, it's hard for me to see otherwise, In my own case, I don't expect anything from Prince. I don't think he is a god and I don't think some of his fans here can be rational about any critism or opinion that they deem anti-Prince. All I know is that his last few albums don't do anything for me and at this point, I feel I have or are about to outgrow him. I will always be grateful for Prince's earlier music and it is the reason I am here. I do not feel I have to love what he's doing now to remain a member of this fan community. well said!

I will always enjoy and look forward to seeing Prince perform/play guitar LIVE, but I do not see myself paying for a $300-$500 concert ticket, even if money was no object.
Lately, I have not been playing his music as much, or any other for that matter. Well, I am stuck on MJ's music right now, but that is about it. I would rather listen to Jazz lately.

I am still a fan and will go out and get his new stuff when it comes out.
Prince is 51. I am damn near 40. Life has gotten harder for us as we have aged. Stuff that I liked to do at 18 I don't or can't do it. I know the same is true for Prince.
