The draw back here for me is that there are tons of his music and work I never even heard of. I somehow missed out on hearing about quite a few things, like 3121, and Planet Earth and many others. I've only very recently even heard of their existence. I would not ask Prince, to give these things away - sacrifice his rights to his music ... however, I realize that there are is a lot of material that I did not know about. Makes me wonder what else have I missed? and where do I even find out about this?

there doesn't seem to be one consolidated place one can go to look up a complete list of his material. Not even just a list. No place that I know of anyway.

I think such a place would be a good thing. Maybe a area on the LotusFlow3r.com
itemizing all the various video's, albums, out takes, etc. Just to teach some of us?

Recent events have made me sit back and really think about some things and I've come to the sad realization that the only time Prince takes an interest in his fans, is when he wants something...ie...money, good reviews, more money, converts, still more money and instant protege` fans.

It's been what it's been and it is what it is.

Now he's all about protecting his image. Protecting it from who? The very people who made his image something worth protecting, in the first place. His fans. All his talent, skill and gifts would have meant absolutely nothing, without us...his fans...encouraging and supporting him. Since we do make up the majority of people that would have an interest in seeing his image, we're a threat to his financial well-being?

That's ridiculous but not as ridiculous as what I think the real reason behind all these shenanigans is, which is Prince simply trying to erase his past because of his current religious faith.

He's entitled to do that because that's his life. What he is NOT entitled to are OUR memories! He can forget his past all he wants to but he has NO RIGHT TO TRY AND MAKE US FORGET IT, TOO!

We lived it...just as much as he did! If he erases 20 years of his history, he effectively erases 20 years of my history!

In 40 years, I'll be 79 years old and Lord willing, in complete control of all my facilities, yet I'll be seemingly babbling about some lil' skinny motherfucker with a high voice that would jump off tri-level platforms, wearing nothing but Speedos and thigh high boots singing about getting some Head...people that have no clue as to what I'm talking about will be trying to lock me away somewhere because NOW Prince wants to try and pretend he never did any of that.

Also, I have never seen the Continental video, when I used to do improv, I would listen to it in the car loud with a side o' extra loud to get amped up to perform.

Just to name a few...you can find loads of stuff floating on the net for these musicians, and it only makes them more popular, earns them a bigger/growing fanbase...and they a way more fan friendly and to some extent BIGGER than Prince will ever be in todays music climate..
people talk bout Prince not getting airplay, that Prince's fault, he's the one who alienates himself and his work...everyone has a right to protect one's legacy yes, but there are also give and takes...for a Person who bitches about money 24/7,didnt anyone tell Prince that it takes money to make money sometimes...sometimes tiny sacrifices must be made...youtube benefits artist period! We all know that, we all go there among other sites for our fix, not only for Prince music...he loses NOTHING by people veiwing his material...if he is not prepared to provide an avenue for people to view them, then he WILL spend eternity and loads of money in a cat and mouse trying to pull his stuff, while other are gaining popularity anf money as a result of these sites while having theire lagacy in tact....Whats Prince's next move? he's gonna slap us a fine for uttering his name?
