I've been a member over there for years, and I just wanna say that they gave sufficient notice of the upcoming changes weeks before they made them so it WAS not a surprise to us. The members have started another video site and have noticfied the others to join them by email. If you din't get one they must not want you to know.

I think both of you need to take a step back. as much as I love this stuff and have an immense collection myself, at the end of the day, P is very fierce about protecting his legacy and how his content is shared. It's the same battle that's fought with the record lables...control over distribution. You can take it personal if you want, but at the end of the day its about the artist legacy. The yunguns coming up nowadays will hopefully be more educated in protecting what's theirs and not signing deals that offer little financial upside...you're seeing alot of that with rappers who stay indie and can remain indie and make millions without needing to sign to a major.

Finally, this whole P vs MJ thing...come on. I sat and watched P's interview with Tavis Smiley this AM, and I'm glad I did. That's the one thing about P that people miss. He's very intelligent and speaks well on a lot of current issues that affects us as a society, some with a twist on his own, but hey, everyone is entitled to an opinion. he has a good sense of history and, unlike MJ, is well respected and can hold his own with the black intelligenista.

I do think it's foolish that Prince isn't taking advantage of all these different ways where people, mainly non-fans, can listen and appreciate his music but at the end of the day, it's his music. He has the right to do with it whatever he pleases and I think people need to respect that.

Well that is a bit of the subject.I have been 2 over 112 showes all over the world-I have talk to HIM before He is very nice.Yes He has shaking my hand.He even gave me a cow bell and stick!I have rooms full of music -clothing-MICS That I bought straight from DEZ.
But I have NO photo with HIM,not even in a show-u know HEs on stage and the people in the front get in the photo.I have been in LOTS of fronts row also!I would love that frame shot to have me in it.Why?I don't know!I just would love it.I have talked to my band members over the years,They all say the same thing "GOOD LUCK"NO one stands next 2 HIM for a photo.One time I was at MPLS I became close to His Hair person back in the early 90's she told me He does NOT want to look tiny Next fan.Well I could sit I told her.

I think Prince and all other media artists and businesses should fight this tooth and nail until laws and technology catch up with the ramifications of digital media. Its way too easy for folks to copy work.

If they don’t fight it, they why bother creating anything if you are not going to get paid to even cover your costs. Its cheaper and easier not to make money staying home and watching TV than busting your ass and shelling out production money.
