yeah that's more like it. Prince will be remembered but not in the way that most fans will expect. Just everybody wait.

Remember after Jmes Brown passed...the remaining band members would tell theire side of the "James Brown story" ego, the money issues...I can just imagine the "Prince story" deep ,dirty little well kept secrets...major money conflicts. If one search realy deep on the web you can already find snippets of rare interview with people who worked with him or came in contact with him, they all have something in common regarding money descrepancies.

But I dont care about Princes' secrets , I just want him to stop being such a fucking dick

it WAS PRINCE. folks i know got their accounts closed over the shit. some people left afterwards because it just got to be too difficult to enjoy anything prince related. what the purple dude wit stick up his ass fails to realize is that no one was making money off of these vidz. in fact, new fans were made because of the vidz. people were wanting to go out and buy his old music because of what they saw on imeem and wanted to buy his latest release even more.

this was about fans who loved the music and the footage sharing it with others, this was not about profiting off of his hard work which is how his dumb ass (i luvs u princey but U R an idiot) perceives it. I mean he could have put all that stuff on lotusflow3r but does he? hell nah. you paid 70 plus bucks for a whack ass website that is not as much fun as an iphone.

folks who originally leaked the shit worked for him so that goes to show how much respect he garners from his inner circle. the vidz will resurface and so will the music, he can't stop it. he will waist money trying too.

p.s.
I love you Prince but I have more respect for MJ right now and he's been dead for 10 days.

So it seem like prince finally got to IMEEM.com...all his videos been removed.
Incase you didnt know, this was one website that you could find all the rare stuff, music, aftershows, concert footage, videos , loads of never b4 seen gems.. I had my filling.. now its gone...SAD! Why do us fans even bother...I know its his stuff and he is free to do what he wants, but at the end of the day its his loss, I know many fans who became fans via sites like these...anyway ,I wish one day prince would wake up and realize he has no fans left...ZERO!
He has nothing to gain by doing this shit..I mean its not like his site Lotusflow3r is providing fans anything worth the price..as far as I know Imeem was/ is free and had loads of great rare shit that kicked ass..I would pay them $77.

If half of yall whiners had bothered to take 5 mintues to read the news that imeem has been talking about for the past TWO MONTHS you'd know that this was a part of their business strategy for staying afloat and that they explicitly said there was "NO ROI ON UGV".

But silly egocentric Prince fan thinks its about THEM lol

Now that I think about it, Imeem has been a little goofy for me for a while. Before, it never used to ask me to become a member to listen to certain songs, etc.

Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

People won't buy more albums by his removing of videos. most people will probably be annoyed and actively not buying records. he'll loose new generations of fans by his legal rampage on youtube. it's gonna be hard recommending his music to other kids on the internet when u got nothing to show. youtube is great marketing.

If you would have taken the time to READ the newspaper you'd already know that this was what they'd been planning to do for a while now. They weren't making money with their user gen video, and their investors told them, either come up with a viable business plan or they weren't gonna continue giving them money.

You make a good point but Prince isn't giving permission because HE THINKS his image, royalties, mujsic, pocket and ego are being unduly impacted.

In a way, I don't blame him. In a way, I don't blame him for being so controlling over his image and his music.

Some of the biggest and most influential people in music history who've died over the past few years have died broke.

Bo Diddley died broke.

James Brown died broke. His family could barely afford to pay for his funeral. Once they were able to bury him, they didn't because they spent weeks fighting over his shit.

They had poor James sitting in a room with the A.C. turned all the way up so he wouldn't start to rot because his family were fighting over money that he didn't have!!!

As unbelievable as it is. Michael Jackson, The King of Pop died broke. If he wasn't broke, he was 100's of millions of dollars in debt.

Also, as the son of a musician. I'm sure Prince saw his own father sign tons of extremely terrible record deals after the other.

So, I don't blame him for wanting to make sure he was in control of every aspect of his music and image.

He told a story in Rolling Stone about how record companies used to get Little Richard for "A Cadillac and a bucket of chicken".

What he was talking about was the way record companies would give black artists like Little Richard shiny new cars instead of giving them the millions of dollars they were owed in royalties.

Are Prince's methods a extreme sometimes? Yes, but his music and his image is all he has. It's his legacy.

u r soooo right. imo Prince is not trying to die like that.

Since he wrote the songs that the people you list perform. He has every right to control if those songs can be seen on Youtube or not.

So because he wrote stuff like "777-9311", "Mia Bocca", and "The Dance Electric". He has say on if those songs can go on sites like that.

What about the song "creep" he performed at cochellea? not his! but e tried to have a say in the whole youtube thing..now isnt that double standard? he wrote for the Time, Jill ect..so he can claim over them.."creep " is NOT his...why would/should he even consider going after it being posted? Oh, yeah, he is Prince, he rules MUSIC ! all music! HE decides...he can cover, but not be covered.Legacy my ass!

In IP law, there are copyrights on songs and then there are copyrights on recordings of performances. Prince owns the copyright to the video of his performance.

just doing from memory...& these are just videos and concerts..I never even checked out the music

Pheromone
The full vid for fury (with Miss Panama)
Honky tonk woman( video)
the 3 concerts 1 night was that in L.A?
10min version of cream video.
Bambi tokyo live ( video)
The whole tokyo concert
Nude tour- an entire concert.
Face down
I wanna melt with u
Continental
The future(snl) badass!
3 different versions of the "get off" video.
Superbowl rehearsal, 12 mins of great guitar!
Redheaded step child
Papa
Aftershow in cafe de paris
Dr. feelgood -cover of motley crue, live

well like i said this from memory..just a tip of the iceburg..there are meny songs that i never knew a video existed for...just dont quite remember them all right now...not to mention all the Prince interview ever dont on camera...like the one at NBC where he was eating crackers from his pocket..

The MTV unplugged...he did cream acoustic...
the interview conducted by one of the spice girls...
some old Ellen apearances...

well, others might add to this list for you later.. this just a tiny fraction of the vast amount of vids that they had...they deserved to be paid $77...not lotusflow3r...hope i shed some light...just that memory is dim at the moment.

In what way does a baby dancing to the song "lets go crazy' being played in his mammas kitchen, affect prince's image/royalties/ music/ pocket/ ego, or whatever the fuck it is he his trying to protect? The next person who interviews him should throw that question at him...I would be glued to the t.v for his brilliant answer to that one.
