I started checking into the org late 2008 to find out when, where and if Prince had a CD coming out soon. I bought the CD ASAP. After listening to it and having a very mixed reaction, I joined on April 17th, 2009.
I live in Massachusetts and since Prince only comes this way on tour I doubted that I would ever meet Prince or anyone who knew him.
I noticed that many people on the org have used bodyguards as their source of info. I doubted that all of them were telling the truth.
On June 20th or their abouts I was on the computer in a public place. A guy I always see here asked what site I was on. I told him Prince.org. He replied "did you know I was a bodyguard?" Yep after only two months I too, in central Massachusetts met an ex-bodyguard. I know he's legit. He's a big burley dark skinned spanish speaking man. He talked about being a bodyguard in Miami when Prince first opened a club there. He said that Prince wanted his sister to be a bodyguard for his "woman". I asked if it was his wife. He said he didn't think so. I did not pump him for more info. He seemed to want to tell me all about the club which still impresses him.

Anyway my point is how many bodyguards has P hired in the last 30 plus years? It seems like you can't back out of your driveway without running over one.

So tell me your stories. If I run into P I hope it's just like meeting my new buddy; by accident, uncontrived, a complete suprise. I still doubt that I will meet him but I will not say never.

The guy who played the club owner in Purple Rain (Billy?) checked my ticket at the One Night Alone show in Cleveland.

Well I remember Hucky, the guy that was his body guard back in the day. He use to post on the sites a lot but I think he changed his username so I don't know if he's around anymore.

Thank God for Prince's bodyguards! lol If it weren't for them I would have never been able to go to private parties or see Prince as many times as I did at Glam Slam and Paisley Park. There were several through the years that I was hanging around from 1991-1997. Gilbert was his main bodyguard from at least 1988 up until around 1990 when he became President of Paisley Park and became "owner" of Glam Slam. Then Duane and Joey both seen in the 7 video, among other things. Then Cedrick, then Tracy, then Cedrick again. Then some bald head white dude, I can't remember his name, was with him for a really long time from around 1995 on. There were others, but those were his main ones around that time.

I met Chick in 1983.

hmmm does being detained by the bodyguards count? if so - i'm in!!!

i have seen the same guy since about 2002 but i forgot his name

I remember I was so upset with that picture of Prince laying on the floor onstage with the female fan leaning over him, that I emailed the pic to Hucky and told him I know that shit would not have happened if HE was still Prince's bodyguard. He was very nice and got back to me that same day. Where are you Hucky??

Wrong. That was there job to pick out respectable people and not wacko fans who would constantly stare at him or try to go up to him at Glam Slam. You have to remember this is Minneapolis and there are not a ton of celebrities that live here. I do remember one time at Paisley Park around Nov. 1993 this woman was asked to leave a party at Paisley Park and she wouldn't and Duane (Prince's brother) punched her in the face and was arrested that night. Another time some woman came to a party in just a see through rain coat. Those were the days!!!

She was one of a few fans invited on stage but got a little carried away due to being "under the influence". Basically tubby little Raul couldn't move fast enough

I remember Unique nearly getting flung out cos they had mistaken him for someone else too. lol

They tried to fling out Unique quite a few times coz of mistaken identity. one night they told him to empty out all his pockets too they wasnt messing about they meant business. i remember Raul being on stage loads when Prince was performing looking down at the fans giving them the evil eye, he was everywhere scanning the place!
