I'm talking about the bitter sweet desire for someone you love, but you can't show your love, because you don't want to look weak and got your heart broken once more. It's just hot, because it's so dirty. That's it, goddamn! Very well explained Let's no go off topic please.

It could do with more BrownMark, but as it stands his performance is an acting masterclass - that withering look... amazing.
The same could be said of Bobby Z - the acting potential displayed in his delivery of "What difference does it make, man? We're still a group, right?" gives me goosebumps. It's an enjoyable film with great music, and a real snapshot of the era in some respects. But in all my years I've never - never - been to a club where when a band plays a song everyone immediately performs exactly the same dance routine in perfect synchronization (of course I'm talking about Dez Dickerson's "I Want To Be A Modernaire"). Even the cop on the balcony can't resist. That's a tiny bit far-fetched.

Sorry but you started it I was just curious to see how will he explain it And as far as Purple Rain is concerned, I think it was never meant to be a deep movie, it's all about the music. Everything else is less important (IMO). So I don't mind it the way it is. [Edited 6/24/09 14:15pm]

1. whatever changes of the script, I would keep the bike
2. I would get rid of that guy on red who plays guitar in Dez's band - I'm sure he's the reason you don't see more Dez in the film, he's all Lion -- Go Peter go!!

The soundtrack would have been 2 LP'S and it would have included," 17 DAYS" " JUNGLE LOVE," " THE BIRD," " MODERNAIRE," " SEX SHOOTER," " FATHER'S SONG," and some of the background music that was featured in the movie too. I would also have included on the soundtrack PRINCE playing the piano to PURPLE RAIN like in the film towards the end.
There also would have been a short segment in the film that featured the song," 17 DAYS," in it. If I was the director, I would have had a quick scene showing PRINCE riding his bike to FIRST AVENUE in the early morning hours and in the background the song " 17 DAYS" would have been playing. That song is classic and should have been a part of the official soundtrack. Nicky Tuzio e-mail: tuztones@optimum.net [Edited 6/24/09 14:26pm]

But Brown Mark did act when Prince walked in to the rehearsal late? Brown Mark looked at that watch and gave him a look (That's acting seriously) But Brown Mark had more visible time on the screen that Dr Fink & Bobby Z because he was upfront on the stage But it would have been cool to hear his speaking voice

I didn't think it was too far fetched, I didn't think much of it after all it was a real yet fantasy world But at discos or even some concerts I've been too, for a large group of people to catch on and do the same dance was not uncommon

... continued from my previous list of suggestions.
5. Prince should have gone down on the puppet. 6. When Appolonia jumped into the lake that wasn't Lake Minnetonka, she should have been grabbed by Jason, and pulled down because it was really Camp Crystal Lake. 7. During the "What's the password" bit, Morris should have slapped the shit out of Jerome for coming up with such a stupid password. 8. When Prince's dad asked Prince "You gonna get married?", Prince should have responded by saying "Yes. Twice. Maybe 3 times". 9. The Sex Shooter performance by Appolonia 6 should have been performed in the nude. 10. Appollonia should have revealed that she bought the white guitar using money that she saved by turning tricks on The Time. The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

That could work, how about Prince being a drug addicted, nympho, sadomaschist musician who is married to Apollonia, treating her well, then next second beat the shit out of her. Apollonia is also secretly seeing Morris, who's a alcoholic loon wanting to get Prince back for what he did at DisneyWorld a few years back. Lisa and Wendy are secret lovers but doesn't want anyone to find out. Jerome is a stalker and likes to follow Jill all over the place and ends up losing his virginity once he gets her hands on her. To be continued..... [Edited 6/24/09 21:47pm]

PurpleMedley122 said: NastradumasKid said: Should have kept the original script. I remember reading the ORIGINAL script of Purple Rain it was alot darker, but also better then the final one. However, I didn't like the "rape scene", that was a little too extreme. He lashes out suddenly, SMASHES it from her grip. She SCREAMS wildly, SLAPS him hard across the face. He stands shocked a moment, his rage surging within him, smashing through every safety valve he's acquired in his life. He BACKHANDS her savagely across the jaw. She hits the ground like a rag doll. He looks at her curiously, bends over her - - she sucker-punches him with everything she's got! He SCREAMS in rage and grabs her hands as they flail about his face. He squeezes her fingers back while the tears stream down her cheeks and her mouth forms a silent "ow"! She bares her teeth angrily and he sucks at her mouth, biting and kissing her in a fever pitch. She kicks at him violently, hot tears streaming down her cheeks. He jams his leg between hers, rubs it firmly against her bottom. She struggles helplessly against him as he covers her breasts, her stomach, her thighs with his lips. Quick breaths escape from her -- her breathing begins to race... He snaps her panties in two, pulls them from between her legs. She spreads herself as he releases his pants. She squeezes his buttocks, pulls him toward her -- but Prince resists her coldly, regards her with contempt. Suddenly he flips her onto her stomach, forces her to stand painfully on her knees. He rubs his hand between her buttocks, then thrusts into her painfully, driving himself to the very depths of her... ...but she stifles a cry, arches her back, and meets his thrusts fiercely, moving quicker and quicker, banging her buttocks against his thighs again and again. She's drawing from him now, turning the humiliation around, obtaining all that she needs and desires. He's powerless -- her thrusts set the pace. She rises, Prince still inside her and tugs on him rapidly, causing him to ejaculate suddenly, drawing from him a sharp and sudden cry... She moves away, draws her coat tightly about her, fixes him with a contemptuous look-- .....ya think? [Edited 6/23/09 14:58pm] I think that if this scene had been included I would not have been allowed to watch the movie when I did.
