Give me a list of songs i should listen to by Prince

All of them?

U know, if possible.

Can you shorten your request a little? What flavor are you interested in? Or are you interested in the official stuff? The rare stuff?

The question is - have you ever listened to Prince before?

Start with Dirty Mind. Listen to it until you've fully absorbed it.


Then continue down the list of albums in chronological order until you've reached LoveSexy. Listen to each and absorb them thoroughly. Try to imagine how the album must have felt like during the year/period it was released.

In doing this you might get an idea of what it was like to be a fan back then, and watching him evolve as an artist. It was an amazing time.



After LoveSexy, just skip to , COME, and The Gold Experience. Then Emancipation. Then just pick any old album after that.

start with what's on "Prince" - his 2nd album - and then proceed with what's on "Dirty Mind"

I would listen to his recnt stuff and work back. Then you can hear alot of his so-called weaker material with an unbiased mind. I wonder with fresh ears if it stands up to his early 80's back catalogue.

Watch Purple Rain first - that will get you going!

A real fan would at least TRY to form his ownopinion. How is anybody else gonna tell you what YOU like?

For someone who is totally new to Prince, where would you tell them to start listening?

I think Purple Rain should be first, digested, and then you can either move to Dirty Mind or 1999...

Then the third step is tackling SOTT and let them go from there.
