Use ITUNES to combine "In2 the Light" and "I Will"

Ok, this may be the day's most boring, looserish post....but here goes....

I just found the tool on I-tunes that let you combine the tracks!! I combined "In2 the light" and "I Will" and it's awesome having no little break in the middle and one continuous track!

Insert the CD (you can't do it in u're Itunes Library or I Pod), select the tracks you wanna join and go to the "Avdvanced" menu tab and select "Join CD Tracks" -- it will rip as one track

you know, if you get the bowie iSelect CD, it has those three as one long track. you can probably download it from iTunes if you can't find it in stores.

You people really didn't know that? REALLY?! I've been joining tracks for ages. Especially CDs like Janet's that have segues or something.

You can also edit the start and end time on a track so it only plays the section you want. I edited the end "Chocolate Box" and "There'll Never B Another", because they're too long. Also edited the start time on that download only song from Lotus so it was more cohesive in starting (edited off the first 2 seconds or something).

It's a great feature.
I use the start/stop time edit feature on many live tracks where the crowd goes on for too long. Then right click and create mp3 version and itunes makes a duplicate with the desired time. Groovy.

Why would you make a duplicate of a file you already have? Just edit the times and leave it at that.

Beacuse the duplicates file size will be smaller.
Multiply that by hundreds of live Prince tracks and it saves space on my ipods.

Small = lesser sound quality. But whatever works for ya.

You could: right click on the song, select Get Info. Select Options and edit the Start/Stop times. Mine are already tracked and here's the time info if it helps:

I Know is 5:20
Alphabet St is 5:38
Glam Slam is 5:04
Anna Stesia is 4:54
Dance On is 3:43
Lovesexy is 5:50
When 2 R In Love is 3:57
I Wish U Heaven is 2:45
Positivity is 7:10

You'll just have to adjust that for the start times...

Yes. You'd have to really work down to when a song starts and ends, and readjust the start and stop time accordingly, then rerip the track and rename it (to keep them straight).

Like, if "eye no" ends at 5:48.00, set the End Time to that, rip the track. Rename it so you know it's "Eye No".

Then for "Alphabet St." reset the start time to 5:48.00 and the End Time to 11:05.54 (example time) and rip that. Rename it to "Alphabet St."

Repeat. It's just about sectioning off part of the track and ripping JUST that part.

You could also use something like Adobe Audition 2.0 or something similar to open the mp3 file and edit it. There's many ways.

No, same bit rate, itunes just chops off the crowd noise I edited and with hundreds of songs that could be half a gig saved space. The duplicate file is the same bit rate/sound quality but 10-20% smaller once 30-50 seconds crowd noise removed.
