I'm not sure if anybody has commented or posted anything on this before, but there is a cartoon called, 'The Proud Family', and it came out in 2001.

One of the characters on the animated series is 'Bobby Proud'. Bobby's character looks just like Prince circa Diamonds and Pearls with a typhoon do and a head wrap, upturned collar, little goatee and he sings his phrases even though he doesn't sound like Prince. Cedric The Entertainer provides the voice for Bobby.

For those of you on the org that have not seen it, the show airs on Disney's Family Channel. I don't know if it airs on any other channels, but it comes on Saturdays.
