BIG BUDGET MOVIE...PRINCE ,THE VILLAIN?

who else agree that Prince should try a different movie role...play a villain?
imagine a big budget film with the right director...

like the bad guy in "no country for old men"
the joker in "dark night"
the devil in "passion of the Christ".
just examples...
with the right director and him letting go and follow direction, no telling how much he could push himself to pull off a convincing acting role for a change...hey ,i predict he will...remember i said so...u never know : )

Prince isn't an actor. He hasn't made a movie in almost 20 years. And he's over 50. Ain't no one putting him in a major motion picture. rolleyes

^ agree, maybe not a great actor, but when he plays "himself" he can be quite funny and entertaining, I enjoyed both PR & UTCM

Prince should do a movie about his fantastic career, only who should play the young Prince...?

Prince is not going to bankroll a film. He prefers to spend other peoples' money on that kind of thing.

he doesnt dress like "us" he doesnt look like "us" there's something unique about his persona..and with the right director and role he could "fit into" a role that requires someone outside the "norm"...
Spiderman villain? Star trek? a stephen king?

..not saying he should bankroll a film...try doing a part in main stream, Instead of doing films about himself and his music. Not a PRINCE movie !

Gene Simmons "if looks could kill"
Jennifer Hudson "secret lives of bees"
Queen latifa "set it off"

Jamie Fox was NOT AN ACTOR, but some how he pulled of RAY...in hollywood anything's possible...but u entitled to your opinion...and i respect that...and further more Prince i agree is no actor..but Purple rain was hit..dont need actors to make a hit movie...I am done here.

I'd like to see him in a short cameo appearance in something. 'Zoolander2' if it happens, The sequal to 'Dark Night' would be a nice nod to his past. Even if he was just dining out, or Batman turning up to bust into an aftershow to get a villain, that'd be great.

Jamie Foxx was not an actor? What planet are you from? He most certainly is, was, and has been for 20 years. (Are you familiar with the show In Living Color?)

Purple Rain was a hit 25 years ago - and its success was a function of Prince's popularity and personal magnetism at the time. It owes nothing to a storyline or acting performances. Prince quite simply does not have that kind of pull anymore.

But a cameo appearance as i described, I'm sure that's not beyond him. it might take you out of the movie momentarily, but it'd be a laugh right?

Mark you simply the ONLY person who understand whats posted...its not about Prince carrying a film..its about a big buget pic with prince in a cameo...somthing with a buzz of its own..and with a great director molding him into a convincing villain or watever...and about Jamie Fox..i know very well what he's known for..but he was nothing worthy of being called AN ACTOR ! thats all i was trying to say..yes he did in living color(my fav show at the time)..but great he wasnt.
Thanks again MARRK> YOU got what i was saying.

no problem. I don't see the harm in your suggestion, people are too quick to jump on things with negativity round here.

Prince is still a good lucking fellow, i'm sure he's not done with the silver screen. He's an interesting prescence for sure.

I got what you're saying, too. I just think it's a silly idea that will never happen.

Look. I am an actor. And frankly, I think Prince did a pretty decent job in Purple Rain, given his level of acting experience at the time.

When I say Prince is not an actor, I mean that that is not what interests him. If it did, he'd've pursued it. The problem is that someone as recognizable as Prince, and who has such a strong persona, is going to have a difficult time being accepted in a role regardless of what that role is. Unless, of course, he's "playing himself," as he did in Purple Rain. And I think we all know that ship has sailed.

He probably has been offered cameos. (He's certainly had plenty of mentions in modern films.) I think it's safe to say that the reason he's never done it is because he's not interested.

I have said it once and will say it again

THE ABOMINABLE DOCTOR PHIBES REMAKE (ORIGINALLY STARRED VINCENT PRICE IN THE 70'S)

Original Plot, Undead Band Leader from the 1920's lives on with his mechanical band of yesteryear. He tries to avenge his young bride who was accidentally killed on the operating table. While he attempts to raise her from the dead he also searches out all who were in the operating room and murders them one by one in a myriad of ways.

This is were we see him eat out of a hole in the back of his neck LOL.

New version - simply make him a well off, Funk Zombie from the past. Give him a hot young bride... there you go. Hell, I would even write it where he was still making music live but no one knew he was a zombie... his face never ages seemingly... hold it.

Try some lessons on the rules of capital letter usage (two mistakes).

Here is a spare comma [,] for you to use the next time when you are picking on someone's spelling. Sure, I know you were being informal, but there is always someone higher up on the grammar and spelling chain.

I Love the name though!

He.Is.Not.An.Actor.

He can act if he tries effing hard enough. And I could see him as a villian if the role was written specifically for him. I mean, if it called for a rich, sexy, someone what effiminate womanizer, Prince would have one 4 inch heel already in the door.

mad Damn, I wish I knew how to write screenplays.

eek I can write a novel and have my friend turn it into a screenplay. But as far as geting it up under Prince's perfect little nose to read...I dunno...

But he doesn't want to - as I pointed out earlier. It would mean giving up control to a director - and he won't do that. Especially not at this stage in his career.

Ever notice how some people just don't get it? Even the one's that subscribe to the "commas are...boring" [STYLE] rule, a la Gertrude Stein, miss the point. But "ending a sentence with a preposition is something with which I will not put."

Why we seek 2 critique some1's spelling n here, written n a media designed 2 b n4mal and inside a forum that seemingly reveres a man who cannot write a sentence without "princebonics" escapes me.

Eye was of course... criteeking the kriteaker.

I just watched The Dark Knight last night and durring the film I thought how similar Prince is to Batman, I thought how he must have his Hollywood Caped Crusader persona, that he puts on for appearances and shows, and then there's the Bruce Wayne side of Prince just nonchalant no agendas or fans just chillin out....and He is a do-godder so yes I'd say Prince is my Batman batman

It would be so cool to see Prince play himself as some horrible person, kind of like some of the guests on Extras. He could have sex slaves locked up in his basement or maybe some kind of breakdown where his hairspray causes him to rob banks or dine and dash.
