... but I love sexually explicit music and I also wish people would not look at me strangely when I admit I love Prince music.

Nah... For me it's all about the music... not so much the lyrics. The sexual lyrics are usually fine with me... sometimes I do find it a bit distracting...

But a lot of the great music with Prince seems to happen with the explicit lyrics... So I don't know if you can have one without the other.

For me it was never about the suggestive lyrics, it was always about the music.
The media as well as Prince himself later, would draw too much attention to the lyrics.
For me it was always about an inovative and refreshing sound regardless of the lyrics.
Even if i dont find his music for the past 20 years all that intresting, I'm still a huge fan and think his 80's music will outlive us all.

Yeah

I like the way his lyrics can be interpreted many ways and each time I listen to the music it sounds different--I hear different instruments and sounds.

Those kind of lyrics are what makes Prince music unique...
