Love Thy Will Be Done: very good song, should've been on one of his albums.
The Sex Of It: let's move on...

Simply put... BRILLIANT!
I have no idea why this wasn't released. Would have been amazing on Lovesexy or maybe Graffiti Bridge. Splendid! The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

I always loved it that you could still just about make out Princes vocal in the background of Martikas version . Levi said that Prince wrote the track in 20 minutes

I think Prince later realised he gave away a great song and then he decided to re-use the intro for his cover of One of Us, to great effect. There is indeed a Prince version which is exactly the same as the Martika version and there is the rock version, which I think is inferior. ALL in ALL a standout track and one of the absolute highlights of Prince's career Oh and Yellow is one of those cd's we can talk about only. It is famous for containing a lot of real high quality outtakes (songwise, the sound was horrible) which on this release came into wide(r) circulation it did better than gett-off on the charts actually.it hit number 10 while gett-off hit number 21

Prince played this quite a bit live at Paisley Park concerts in 1995. Which was a good thing! As was Days of Wild. Race and Get Wild got old fast, especially when he would drag them out for 10 mins +. TRUE BLUE

And yes, I'm being impolite about Martika! I can't apologize for that! [And you know Prince's verion is better, I'll just wait for you to say it..] PIPS! Eurgh...

Gotta agree that Martika's version is superior. She did a great job emoting...and the song itself is really one of the best things Prince has ever written. So hopeful and moving. I wonder how much of it is hers and how much is his?
I guess it was a bigger hit than I remember for her. It was a top 10 hit in the US.

[And you know Prince's verion is better, I'll just wait for you to say it..] Do not worry about that In fact, I've not been listening to Prince's version in quite awhile, 'cause it's not an official release and I do not have it now, but as far as I can remember, that was impressive too. I have to look for it again and give it another try, then I'll get back to you. [Edited 6/12/09 0:16am]

[Edited 6/3/09 1:43am] [Edited 6/3/09 1:43am] I just love that song, and always had, Martika was quite a good singer, whatever happened to her, shes like a pop marriage of Madonna and Tori Amos. I swear 2 I can hear Prince's guide vocals there as well especially at 0.58-1.02 and 2.52 - 3.26. Can anyone else And I would love to hear Prince's version of that song There are boots of his version around. His version is beautiful.

If someone is covering a Prince composition, it's fair game. Ya gotta kind of roll with it. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
