it's an amazing album and is one of my favorites. For a long time it WAS my favorite, but now I don't listen to it as much as I used to.

The arrangements are a bit over the top and the whole album has a sorta otherworldly cartoonish quality to it - but it works. Although.... it sounds very dated at times now.

Needs a deluxe remaster!!!!

The songs are some of his best and most original.

There are messages in this album, and HIS words have touched many.

its a fantastic album but his perfect moment was Parade IMO- nothing before or since sounds, feels orlooks quite like it and I love it as much today as the day I first bought it at the old HMV store in Oxford St in 1986 smile

Not one of his best but definitely above average in his back catalog. My favorite tracks are Alphabet St. and When 2 R In Love. Both are so original.

ATWIAD was my first 'grower' from P. i used to liking EVERYTHING on an album. but Lovesexy was even more of a grower. i love it now. but the cover definitely fueled the "gay" argument with some ppl. Positivity and the title track are my least faves. Solid album, very cohesive conceptually

Ooops. Yeah, Around The World in a Day was a grower, mos' def.

like your new icon Giovanni. cool.

Apparently president Obama is about to release an album himself and it's apparent that he makes a nod to Prince.

I really enjoy this album, but I wouldn't go this far. It has 9 songs and I only find six of them to be very strong (not too into alpha st, Dance On, and Positivity). So many of his other albums have way more than 6 strong songs.
What really deteriorates this album is the continuous nature of it. I have spent way less time listening to it than I would have due to the fact that it is all on one track. Lovesexy and When 2 R in Love are my favorites on the album, but I rarely want to go through the hassle of skipping to them.
