You can just fall in love all over again with Prince from that video. The outfit (oh i love that hat), the stage smoke, his dancing (on beat) and the crazy look he gives when he says "addict." It's just too damn cool and sexy. The keyboard/base/drum combo is hypnotic. The song takes you to a very romantic, sexual and somewhat dark place. Is it Automatic, Autoerotic, is he an Automaton?
I love his voice in this key. Tenor is it with a little Base at the end? Absolutely one of his best. Damn shame he does't do this type of music anymore. Its like this Prince has been crucified.  | |

A.U.T.O.matic is one of my all time favs. The whole 1999 album to me is his best. It's sleezy, nasty, dark and classy all in one. This is classic Prince. | |

Great way of putting it. To me, Jill Jones makes the video. She was so sexy with her platinum hair, cool ivory skin and black lingerie. And knowing she is a sista added even more spice to the mix. Prince was so ahead of his time with gender/racial game playing. By the way, one of these music journalists should ask Lisa how it felt to whip Princey!
