I take that back because I remember reading in Chaka Khans book "Through the Fire" that Prince called her up pretending to be Sly Stone and when she went down to meet, supposedly Sly it was Prince. She said she saw this skinny man with a huge afro, she didn't even know who he was. Chaka said that's when he introduced himself, and wanted to get to know her and do a song for her. They kept in touch and "I feel for you" is the song he wrote for Chaka Khan, later on. Chaka Khan is still one of his favorites. Some years back he was looking for her to do another gig and she was overseas with her then boyfriend in England.

Yeah,Nona is really pretty.She has a decent singing voice,too.

Does anyone know....is there a Prince-produced Nona Gaye album collecting dust in the vaults? Recorded in the early 90s? She has a song on the 1-800 New Funk compilation ("A Woman's Gotta Have It") and of course,we're all familiar with the brilliant "Snow Man".That song is EXCELLENT!! I wonder if Prince produced an entire album for her that remains unreleased?

I Feel For You is an original Prince recording from his 1979 album "Prince" nd he hadn't even met Chaka. Arif Mardin produced the remake for Chaka in 1984. It was never a song intended for her.
