If you want someone to talk WITH you instead of TO you or AT you, try respecting a person's name, and stop being juvenile about it because you happen to disagree or have misread something. If you can't do that, I'll treat you as such. Second, poodle, I'm not on the rag. I'm realistic. Prince is a fucking amazing performer. I'm the first to admit that. But he's not a leader in music nearly as much as he used to be. No one is following Prince's sound like they did in the 80's, or perhaps even the 90's. There's a quadzillion R&B bands in the 80's that copied Prince's sound either with synths, drum machines, etc. But in the 90's, Prince started following some of the trends of the day. It hindered some of his originality. He started to really dig into rap and really did some searching for a new sound in the early 90's (blame Tony M for part of that, although we heard TC Ellis' voice rapping before we heard Tony M's I believe...unless you count Cat or Sheila's random raps here and there). Some of his remixes had that canned 90's percussion sound that SO many had. The term "Remix" really started to take on a new form in the early 90's, and a LOT of 90's remixes had THAT sound. Prince's music ended up with that, which was disappointing on some levels. In the 00's, TO ME, he lost a lot of his umption to do all that. No one is following his lead anymore. Now on a business level, some might have followed his lead, and rightly so. There might have been artists who did one off deals or something, and kept independent in their non-contract status. I don't know..I don't follow every single person. I follow Prince, among others. Lastly, let's get PERSONAL since you took it to that level (speaking of who's on the rag, girly girl). I will never shut my trap. That's the beauty of America. You, Janey girl, are free to disagree with me, just as I disagreed with PharkyorLOVE; I never attacked him/her as a person, I just commented on their statement. If YOU took it as negative, that's on you. I'm always ready for a healthy debate and discussion on something. People like Squirrelgrease and daPrettyman and others understand that too. We agree or disagree on something, OR just discuss the ins and outs of any particular situation we see with Prince, whether musically, business, personal, or otherwise. It's THAT kind of discussion, not cussin', that I can thrive on, not some little girl's fit about something I said. I NEVER claimed I knew "so much" about Prince. I know as much as anyone else here, maybe less, maybe more, but probably, roughly, the same level of knowledge any other fan has of him. Fair statement, yes? I guess the rest of your rant about "those who think they know so much" really falls by the wayside, so there's no need to answer ot it. In reality, no one is going to follow Prince's lead on Lotus or MPLSound. He leads his own band, and his own life. I WISH his influence on the music scene TODAY was like it was even 10 years ago when people like Chuck D., Gwen Stefani, Sheryl Crow, Ani Defranco, Maceo Parker, and Eve were lining up to work with him on an album. Who does he have now even talking about working with him? Bria? She was unknown 3 months ago, and she'll be forgotten in another six months, if not before. Sad, but true. She's yet to prove her chops, but that's another show. So again..maybe it's YOU who have the negative buzz about ya, not me. I still love Prince, I love most of his music, I love his style, his look, his humor, his mystique, ...all of that stuff. It makes him what he is, and I'm a fan of HIM. So go put on The Rainbow Children, and chill out, mmkay? But hey...that's just my . My neighbors dog says its ok to be juvenile, then he went silent.

What he REALLY needs to do is, give up his religious crap, go out and get smashed and pick up a gorgeous hottie and "do it all night". THEN, write an entire album about it the following day. Scarlettpuzy, I'm not directly making this statement to you, but I want to know what's wrong with him being a Witness for Jehovah? I don't get why so many here are against it. It's his choice. I don't have a problem with it. Prince is past the stage in his life where he is partying all of the time. He is in a new chapter and a lot of you here need to learn to respect it. Whether you agree with it or not. Besides, if he showed up at your door to talk about Jehovah, I'm sure 99% of you would let him in and talk to him. i have never EVER said anything bout him being a jw..what are u talkin bout???? Marry me 2day and 2night we'll make love until the world stops turning

RudyIsBackForGood said: daPrettyman said: Yeah, he has ATTEMPTED to do what I mentioned, but he has never done it on a full scale. When I say musical, I mean a full-out Broadway production. Sure, he wrote Stray as a musical, but are we sure if he ever completed it? In the CB booklet, it says it never materialized. Movies like Footloose and Legally Blonde have been adapted to the Broadway stage and have done extremely well. I think PR would also do well. The only major problem would be P wanting control over everything. I don't think P's released live material (video or audio) sucks. I just think that whoever has done the editing for what's out there fails to capture the essence and feeling of a true Prince concert experience. I recently got the new Stevie Wonder live DVD and I must say, it felt just like being at the show. The editing did not take away from the concert experience. Prince should take note of this. When I say he should take lessons from MJ, I don't mean remixing or reworking a song with new hot artist, but issue outtakes and demos of his recordings. In recent years, MJ has released LOTS of outtakes. I love the Special Editons of Thriller (NOT Thriller 25) and Off the Wall. Also, the Ultimate Collection (Boxed Set). Those cds contain LOTS of great outtakes). [Edited 5/26/09 13:29pm] your making some good points therre.Still, his live relases are shitt and suck ass. I´d gladly pay bootleggers my money instead of getting shitt releases by Prince. Aladddin DVD was shittty, ONA LIve was a joke, that aftershow cd was ridiculous. his 21 nites cd was embarrasingly bad while most boots were really good, tracklist and all. yepp

I would like Prince to really get free and find the real truth that is free of bondage and nothing but grace. I also think it would be a waste of good genes not to have a baby with a quality woman. I hate to say it but I think he needs to take a long break and find real life again so that he can write things that really mean something to him and come from his heart. He also needs time to heal from all that has happened in his life. He needs time alone with God not people telling him who God is but go away take a King James bible and ask for understanding and don't come back until you get it. Than God will tell him what is next in his life.

So orgers...what's left for him to do? Let the count begin...
#1 He should write his own biography in his own words minus the ghost writer. #2 He should open up a music school/performing arts academy for underprivileged (sp) but potentially talented youth. I totally agree that he showed open a music school, or at least begin speaking/teaching music in the various high schools around the country and encourage the youth to develop their musical talents. I would love an cd of duets.
