what if Prince released Sign O' The Times in 09' instead of 87 that would be a major comeback, imagine if Adore,Sign O' The Time,& I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man were singles(i know the last two were singles)that would be the best album of the 2000's he proably would've sold like 2 million already.

I guess that is kind of what remastering is 4...
The 20th Century Masters or 21st. has tons of artist that have cd's out there...I'm hoping Prince will have one of those someday. I would definitely put a few songs from "Sign 'o' the times," on there. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

You know I think music has changed so much it would not really make much of a difference. It would definitely be appreciated but it wouldn't change the sonic landscape in terms of airplay. That sounds is so lush and melodic...and we all know artist now want something that's readily duplicated and doesn't require much musicianship. I was just listening to Dorothy Parker....have you ever heard such a clever bridge to a song before or after..."My favorite song she says...and it was Joni singing" the music in the small section fits just perfect with the rhythm of the verse. An amazing album. 1 over Jordan...the greatest since

I agree, it would make absolute no difference in regard to sales or popularity. In fact, it would probably get bashed by a fair amount of Prince fans who'd claim that it doesn't cover any new ground.

It would be a hit....hands down! I was listening to it while working out a few weeks back, and a 21 year old wanted to know who that was because it was some of the best "new" sh**" out there! I said, "It was not new, it was Prince,in 1987."She was so impressed; she wants me to let her know when Prince is touring again, because she wants to hear music like that live! 'Nough said! Wake up!......Wake up!

The first question would have to be: why have you waited twenty two years to release this album? Surely?
Prince, self-evidently, is not in a place to record a 'Sign O The Times' in 2009... he's in another place caught between releasing as-live material and harking-back-to-an-era-I've-nearly-forgotten-how-to-record material... plus a smooch or two with a young lady who thinks he'll be of benefit to her career... (he has such a great track record)... ...If Prince released a 'SOTT' now, I would be enthralled and delighted... can't see it happening though.

I don't understand these sort of questions. It's like 'What if we went back in time and killed Hitler as a baby'.

I'm sure there are a myriad of 'Hitler' and 'Greatest Hits' jokes out there... And/or questions about Hitler and Prince's recording history... Is, for example, Hitler the man who coughs at the beginning of Raspberry Beret 12"... Is it Hitler, in drag, as the announcer in Purple Rain... Did Hitler originally record I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man for Goring in late '37 only for Prince to claim he had 'written' the song in 87... Endless, endless questions...
I'm sorry... I don't know where that post came from...
