I have been part of His Music since 1978.He is a Big part of my Life.I really only ONLY listen 2 His Music.Every so often I pop in music from others,most of the time it just makes my head hurt.
I listen to a lot of boots I have over 500 of them.He really should think about letting them become free from HIS hands.Just put them on HIs site with a easy download-and a fee.No Edit-No over dubbing!Raw them same way it was made many years ago.I know He will never do it because of the swears.He could make SO much money for doing nothing.Even though I have so many boots-there r so many I never heard.
The other thing that He should do is do more movies but very small parts.Parts that make people say."was that Prince" He is so funny or He can act!

Be kind. How many times have we heard Prince being a dick, suing people and seldom was he kind unless he had a reason to be? (Album release, or something to promote).

Make another album success in the PR fame. I think Prince can be at the top of his game again. He needs to find his footing.

LET SOMEONE ELSE PRODUCE HIS ALBUM. at the thought!

Do a FREE concert where he is not bragging about how much money he made and how he's the highest entertainer paid. Do something for the people. Maybe even put the free show on for Dublin!

Be involved in bringing national awareness to something he really cares about other than the record companies ripping people off. WE GET IT.

Travel to Egypt and do like the Mayer Cruise but we'll call it the Prince of Egypt and make some cash and the fans would go

Second, poodle, I'm not on the rag. I'm realistic. Prince is a fucking amazing performer. I'm the first to admit that. But he's not a leader in music nearly as much as he used to be. No one is following Prince's sound like they did in the 80's, or perhaps even the 90's. There's a quadzillion R&B bands in the 80's that copied Prince's sound either with synths, drum machines, etc. But in the 90's, Prince started following some of the trends of the day. It hindered some of his originality. He started to really dig into rap and really did some searching for a new sound in the early 90's (blame Tony M for part of that, although we heard TC Ellis' voice rapping before we heard Tony M's I believe...unless you count Cat or Sheila's random raps here and there). Some of his remixes had that canned 90's percussion sound that SO many had. The term "Remix" really started to take on a new form in the early 90's, and a LOT of 90's remixes had THAT sound. Prince's music ended up with that, which was disappointing on some levels. In the 00's, TO ME, he lost a lot of his umption to do all that. No one is following his lead anymore.

Now on a business level, some might have followed his lead, and rightly so. There might have been artists who did one off deals or something, and kept independent in their non-contract status. I don't know..I don't follow every single person. I follow Prince, among others.

Lastly, let's get PERSONAL since you took it to that level (speaking of who's on the rag, girly girl). I will never shut my trap. That's the beauty of America. You, Janey girl, are free to disagree with me, just as I disagreed with PharkyorLOVE; I never attacked him/her as a person, I just commented on their statement. If YOU took it as negative, that's on you.

I'm always ready for a healthy debate and discussion on something. People like Squirrelgrease and daPrettyman and others understand that too. We agree or disagree on something, OR just discuss the ins and outs of any particular situation we see with Prince, whether musically, business, personal, or otherwise. It's THAT kind of discussion, not cussin', that I can thrive on, not some little girl's fit about something I said.

I NEVER claimed I knew "so much" about Prince. I know as much as anyone else here, maybe less, maybe more, but probably, roughly, the same level of knowledge any other fan has of him. Fair statement, yes? I guess the rest of your rant about "those who think they know so much" really falls by the wayside, so there's no need to answer ot it.

In reality, no one is going to follow Prince's lead on Lotus or MPLSound. He leads his own band, and his own life. I WISH his influence on the music scene TODAY was like it was even 10 years ago when people like Chuck D., Gwen Stefani, Sheryl Crow, Ani Defranco, Maceo Parker, and Eve were lining up to work with him on an album. Who does he have now even talking about working with him? Bria? She was unknown 3 months ago, and she'll be forgotten in another six months, if not before. Sad, but true. She's yet to prove her chops, but that's another show.

So again..maybe it's YOU who have the negative buzz about ya, not me. I still love Prince, I love most of his music, I love his style, his look, his humor, his mystique, ...all of that stuff. It makes him what he is, and I'm a fan of HIM. So go put on The Rainbow Children, and chill out, mmkay?

In his personal life, it's entirely up to him what to do and what not - I surely won't voice any wishes other than I hope that he is well and happy.

Musically, what I would love him to do would be a nearly non-produced lo-fi album - something like a mixture between "The Undertaker" and some "White Stripes" stuff.

I've listened to "The Undertaker" a lot recently (thanks to the internet) and have to say that it is some of his best work. The only drawbacks imo are that it is 6 tracks only, and out of those 6 tracks, 2 are two songs reworked ("Bambi", title track - great versions btw), 1 song in a version which imo is inferior to its later TGE incarnation ("Dolphin") and 1 cover version ("Honky Tonk Woman"), which is amazing though. However, the remaining two songs ("The Ride", "Poorgoo") blow me off my damn chair.

So I have developed the idea of Prince doing what he essentially did on "The Undertaker" (go in a studio with Mike and Sonny and record some shit directly onto tape), but with more new songs (10+ tracks). No production wizardry, no overdubs, like a garage rock band. As much as I love "Lotusflow3r", it is a "produced" rock album. I would love to have the addition of a "recorded" rock album (a music journalist in Germany once wrote about an AC/DC album: "You don't produce an AC/DC album, you just record it!").

I hope Prince never feels that he's done it all and there's nothing left for him to do. I hope nobody ever feels that way.

He should get his 2 side teeth fixed!
