Whatever Kevein Smith was crying about.. He should not be asking Prince for music.
Maybe, ths was the source of his anger towards Prince all along, and not being able to film in restricted areas of Paisley Park, or talk to some of the staff. He should allow me to follow him and have all-access to his Production company, staff, etc.. Yeah, right.. YHWH is Eohim and Yahoshua is King | |

I am no fan of Kevin Smith and have never seen one of his movies but I have seen Prince treat other people with way more and in some cases, too much respect but he does not seem to treat EVERYONE like that. Think about how disrespectful it was to list all of his drummers throughout his career on Old Skool Company but surprisingly left Bobby Z. out of that list. I think the new motto for Prince's band is White American males need not apply. Just some obvious observations | |

YHWH is Eohim and Yahoshua is King kevin smith is/was a prince fan. he was at the taping of the rave 2000 gig at paisley park, as a fan, lined up like everyone else. mallrats was shot at the eden prairie mall just along from paisley park and the clerks laserdisc commentry was recorded in MPLS during the shooting of mallrats. he simply wanted to use the song in his movie, just like other filmakers think a specific track will work with a scene, and as part of the process of putting music in a film he had to ask permission, and he was turned down there are stories from kevin in his first two "evening with" dvds, the second one discusses the aftermath of prince finding out about the first one, and kevin not signing the non disclosure form | |

So you are saying that it is not possible for Prince to hold "The belief that some races are inherently superior (physically, intellectually, or culturally) to others and therefore have a right to dominate them"? Or indeed the dictionary definition which is "a racial prejudice or discrimination" Not that I am suggesting he is or does for one moment. [Edited 5/28/09 3:48am] | |

You need to re-examine what you said in your original post. Maybe you can say, "Prince forgot to add all of the drummers in his career in the lyrics of old skool company".Or maybe you can ask Prince yourself.  you forgot kirk too

Those days are long gone (along with the days of his making great music). Around the time of ATWIAD, PARADE, and SOTT, Prince got more and more grief from segments of the black community that his music was no longer "black". This eventually got to him. He was broken down over time on this issue. Very sad. I don't think it got to him at all. Yeah, I know countless blacks that dropped him after "Purple Rain" but countless whites dropped him also. I, myself was pissed as hell when he changed his style but never dropped him. He could have easily gotten all those fans back, both white and black, by going back to his old style but he never did. I don't see that as breaking down and giving in. Andy is a four letter word. | |
