Rave in2 the year 2000

Believe it or not, I only got this the other day !!
(I was waiting untill I got a DVD player)

It's rubbish !

It looks like it was filmed in a studio, which it was, but so was some of SOTT and that looked great.
There's just no atmosphere. It's such a boring show !!
The only bit I enjoyed was the blues bit.

What do other people think of this DVD/Video ?

I really like this one!
Especially the performances with Lenny Kravitz, The Time,
George Clinton...

Hate the camera work, love the music.

American crowds are useless though it seems.

I was very disappointed too, actually... It was just a greatest hits show. Looked like it was just another day at the office for Prince, nothing special.

I don't think I'll buy it whenever I finally get a DVD player.

Let's see how excited you are when Prince makes you wait outside for 4 or 5 hours in 10 degree weather and then another 3 or 4 inside. People were tired and pissed.

In the crowd's defense, it was a little tough during the filming. I only attended the first night with the Time and then P and Larry jammed later on, but they kept stopping film, waiting 20 mins and then starting up again.
We were hungry--they served NO food to anyone but the VIP's, tired from waiting outside in sub-zero weather all night, and a little bored cuz we stood there for hours.

I'm not sure why he didn't perform a couple weekend concerts and pull the best footage from both shows...?

I agree...I paid to see it on pay per view, but it was pretty dissappointing. I did enjoy some of the footage, but much of it was a yawnfest, seriously...I used to forward through half the video just to get to semi decent parts, but as a whole, it was not well done. I think some fans like P so much, that the difference between good and bad becomes clouded. I just hope he can redeem himself on future live video/DVD releases, cuz many of them have been crap.

I think it is pretty boring. I like She's Always in my Hair and U Got The Look, but otherwise, it doesn't feel live and doesn't capture the live experience of a Prince concert.

I like it very much! But on the dvd there are some short pieces of performances (george clinton, larry graham and so on)... but these are just fragments... where's the full stuff?
Will there be an extra release?
