Last "classic" album - LoveSexy - while not as good as its forerunners its the last "mythic" album. Every track has something interesting.
Last album where he really "tried" - Emancipation or maybe TRC (its mean spirited message aside). Havent listned to Lotusflow3r/MPLSound enought to determine if he was really trying here or if the whole thing is elaborate flame.

The album is a classic. disc two gives me painful memories, so I avoid it like the plague! except that instrumental track near the end. Wer ist dort? Unterbrechende Kuh. Unterbrech... Muh!!!

Last classic album, I would agree with Lovesexy, nothing is bad on that album. Last great one? The Gold Experience, last top 15 hit, great classic songs on it. Every album after has songs I have to skip, which is not the case on ones before it.

I don't know. I just love all of the songs, and it didn't sound flat to me, but rather fresh! I don't get why the org has such a thing about The Rainbow Children. Prince is trying very hard with it, and it is intriguing, but the whole overbearing nature and the mixed cryptic messages make the whole thing sound like a giant headache. Plus, there's the dirge that is "Mellow". Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

TGE was the last great album for me - until Lotusflow3r and MPLSound showed up
I think these two will stand the test of time very well and will soon be referred as "classics" and "great albums" just like the other that are named here on this thread It's not like that everybody felt in love with the "Sign of The times" album immediately when it cam out in 1987 (I for myself hated SOTT when it first came out- I really couldnt stand it! Now i see it as a classic as probably everbody else does... ) "ohYeeeeeah" said: I'm a massive Bowie fan. Even on Scary Monsters, I always skip Fame ...
