Honestly, I DO try to listen to the new stuff. But other than an isolated song or to, it's just not my thing anymore, sorry!

I have been pondering this all day today. What is it that is so much different?

My oldest daughter (14) really likes the new stuff and I do dig some of it too. But then I put on Sign o the Times or Exodus or Symbol or the B Sides etc and I wonder what is it that is so different?

Is it the emotion, the experimentation, the layers of sounds? Is it his age? I do not know.

I do know that we only get a taste of the magic in his newer stuff compared to his older stuff. Though, for a 50 year old, the new stuff really kicks ass.

It seems to me that that magic started to fade around Rave.

I still believe that he has it in him to blow our minds again and I believe the he will sooner or later. It may take access to the vault for such to happen.

Let me repeat that I do really enjoy the new stuff and this is not ment to be a diss to Prince. But the bar that was set with his older material may be too high to reach again.

When he is on stage, he is untouchable still and probably always will be.

I am thankful for all the music he has given and still gives.

Thank you for everything Prince, I 'aint mad at ya and appreciate it all.

But...damn I miss the old days.
