A Prince song disliked by so many that it doesn't even show
on the "Unpopular Prince songs that you love" thread?!

Well, I have always loved Solo. It's sparse and desperate,
he's sometimes barely whispering, sometimes bellowing,
and all the time it's reverberating as if he is alone in the
dark empty church in the b&w picture on the album cover.
I'll never forget listening to Solo for the first time,
it was right after he did the name change and pronounced
that Prince Was Dead and at the end of the song when he
is whispering lower and lower I'm So Low... so low....

.....and for that quiet second i was like:
ooh damn!! what's he gonna say?! His name?? is what??.....

damn!

I don't know, i have always felt the effect he was going
for on this one & I love it. but I totally know how almost
