Actually, do you know how cost effect this would be for Prince??
Combining the celebration, a two month tour, an album promotion and release would be very productive. I don't know if I'd buy 38 CDs worth of music in a year, but it would be nice to have the option! .

thats the biggest load of shit anyone has every come up with apart from the fact that 38 CDs in a year is bloody impossible and the quality of the discs will b crap, i think prince is all toured out, i expect him 2 do a lot of recording next year, and the credit card idea is pants
sorry | |

sorry Give the guy a break! I admit it's a far out idea and will never hapen but it has imagination and I like a bit of fantasy in Prince's world!

Do we want him 2 have a Mariah Carey breakdown? Sounds like a lot for 1 person. I wouldnt do it. A mind is like a parachute...it has to be open to function. - Bumpersticker #348

Wow! What an ideal situation for NPGMC! I think your imagination is fantastic and there are a lot of great ideas there. Unfortunately, Prince is only 1 guy (true, with lots of employees) and to do all that studio work as well as record a new album and prepare things to be released every month? I don't know how anybody would be able to get all that together. The $10 deal would be cool, especially with the option to buy 1 live set every month. Even one live set every other month would be great! I think the idea of the celebration coinciding with a tour is good also (isn't that what happened this past year with the ONA Tour and Xenophobia).
All in all that is a great idea/day dream...thanks for the smile!

I think what Prince has done is to basically finance his current year 3 plan to release as much material as he wants by charging extremely high prices in the years 1 and 2 of the club. I for one think that the new low price of $10 dollars or whatever is a total scam. He has used diehard fans who paid the membership fee in year 1 and 2 as cheap financing thereby avoiding any risk himself. The original fan club price has enabled Prince to expand his market to a wider and possibly less loyal fanbase who will be only too willing to pay the cheap memebership price on the offcance that something of interest becomes available to them. Prince will deal with these purchases the same way he dealt with the Crystal Ball ie wait until a bulk order is in then get the CD's printed -in other words no risk. This has all been done with the release of almost no exclusive merchandise or new material to existing members. When the new format of the club is available Prince will be in the position he has wanted for the last 10 years by being able to sell whatever he wants, whenever he wants, to whom he wants without any large scale investement from himself (other than the actual composing of course) all done off of the back of the mugs that were willing to pay the extortionate membership fees in years 1 and 2 while geting almost nothing in return except a few outtakes, a couple of videos and a few CD's that have been released globally anyway. Very clever and essentially a con.
As for next years plans to have celebrations globally A ND tour AND release a new double album AND AND AND etc ...all I can say is 'what a crock of shit!'

Nate thanks for the effort and imagination. This would be a great club and all for $10 too.
However, I have to agree that Prince would definitely being spreading himself pretty thin with so many obligations. Also, the clear and concise use of the English language wouldn't work for PP either. God forbid that we actually understand what we're getting for our $$$. World-wide Celebration sounds real good. Especially if he used acts from that particular section of the the world. And it would reduce the amount of seating and other problems if something would be worked out on a global basis. Excellent Theory. Now if only NPGMC would send out a survey, chat or something so that we the members actually have some input on the Club, that would be nice. **************************************************

Meanwhile, year 2 has burned up un2 it's last 2 weeks and
still we haven't really gotten any substantial info from the npgmc about THIS year. No doubt they're making an effort to create a nice site and a big old bag full o promises to put on it to tempt those who bought the set at retail to join up next year. But I for one have learned not to buy into the hype of the promises anymore. Unless they'll put up a whole 'nother album, like the Xenophobia one 4 download, I won't sign up for another ride until well and truely after they're sending out stuff for year 3. Great idea Nate, I doubt the world celebrations happening-too much cost, crazy fans & he would have to be organized(you know that NPGMC doesn't understand that word!lol!)Though i do like the $10 card idea & Prince should too-i'll tell you why.Isn't it better to have 100,000 members paying $10 than now 5000 paying $100?!See at that price he could forsee a great increase in memberships-DO THE MATH PRINCE!

Dare to Dream dude...
At least the club should send out FREE t-shirts and catalogs and hats so we can wear and/or distribute them to get the message out there. He's losing valuable FREE promotion by not considering this.

Don't forget at least 1 or 2 live chats with Prince or with another band member. That would be cool I think, overall, people just want to know that Prince is listening and that he cares. With all the complaining going on,though, I could understand if he was discouraged in any way to talk to any of his so called fams!! Therefore, I also propose that Prince post "any thing at all" at his site that is genuinely from him. Anything like, " I appreciate all my peeps for the love and continued support of the Music Club..." Unfortunately, knowing people, they would probably complain about this, too. Y'all are some hounds when it comes to what Prince should and could do to please YOU
