My brother from Long Beach is in Vegas this weekend, and he sends me this picture just a bit ago. It's a costume from the Purple Rain tour. It'd be nice if there was a picture from the tour w/ him in this outfit.

Sidenote: There's a similar outfit at the Planet Hollywood at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. It's from the "Take Me With U" sequence of Purple Rain. I love the PR Tour pic here though. My brother rocks.

My brother took a picture of his wax figure in Madame Tussaud's in NYC.
It was from the Purple Rain era - too bad it was horrible rendition of him.

That looks tiny as hell!...'specially from the waist down.
I know Prince is skinny but isn't he smaller than when he wore this outfit?
If so, then how small is he now actually?

He's a very tiny guy. Not just in height, but in literal size of his clothes; and if his clothes were skin tight, then there's not a lot of leg room, no pun. haha The Purple Rain outfit I mentioned at Planet Hollywood was surprisingly short. It was like something from the junior's department at Kohl's.

Someone once said he'd be a size 6 if he were a woman. That's pretty small, but I think he might be able to squeeze a 4, especially lately.

I don't recall any pics or footage of him ever wearing this.What throws it off is the red 'rubies' on the outfit instead of the white buttons...Anyone have any pics 2 confirm that he did own this?

That doesn't mean he didn't wear it. The tour lasted for MONTHS, and unless you saw every single show, which you did not, you don't know what he wore. You know he'd wear something different every night on that tour. He wore it.

I came across one not too long ago of Prince wearing the outfit with the thigh high black boots, white skin tight pants, and the white shirt, and black vest from Lovesexy and the pic he had thigh high purple boots, black skin tight pants, black shirt, and purple vest. ^True...BUT even with the variations in his outfits,looks,& "era's" there's always a certain consistantcy with his outfits.from 1982-1988 we saw the buttons on the pants & jackets.Not rubies...
