I think if Prince was upset with things right now , we all would know . In my opinion if he was upset with things he would not come out and play 4 us !!. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. | |

Makes sense to me. I dont know ... maybe I should go back over all the posts on this thread, however, off the top of my head... it seems like people remember the movie Purple Rain, and the main Character, brooding and dark and they seem to be stuck in 1st gear with that image. I shouldn't think that anyone could put Prince in a box like that. Into just that one mode ... all the time. Or most of the time. Or whatever. People have layers. Like music. And Prince probably has more than two or three ... I should think. Yes, that's assumption on my part, but not completely unreasonable. this is the time of the first fast. | |

The website hit so much traffic in the first 18 hrs that they had some cloud had some challenges to deal with... if I recall correctly. Also the albums are not owned by any major labels, if I understand that correctly. Yet, Chocolate box for one was getting airplay on the local radio around here. I can't speak to much about local radio anymore because, I dont listen to it much anymore. too many commercials for starters. The point is, these albums were not being promoted by a major label, yet at least one track was still getting air play on the main stream radio. I think thats significant. Its breaking through something pretty major. LotusFlow3r did hit number 1 according to some. These things are significant. They had to throw in some extra hardware because they udnerestimated the load. They did not say that there was a mindshattering amount of traffic. Or how much exactly. Also the albums are not owned by any major labels, if I understand that correctly.
All/most post-WB albums are his? LotusFlow3r did hit number 1 according to some. These things are significant.
So I dont know where Japanrocks means by these things. I guess you need to stuff in perspective. Yes he hit #1 or 2. But how soon did the sales drop off? So how many hardcore-buyers were in there and how many of the casual customer or `light` fan? I.e.: how appealing was his work to the mainstream audience? But also: Did he need to sell beyond that? How much did he earn with the deal he struck for Lotusflow3r? What is in the pipeline from his vault? Etc. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... I don't think his hiatus would leave us out in the cold, some of us wait for Sade to re-surface then we just pick back up from where we left off. Prince is set for life, I think he's a very blessed man considering his longevity in the music industry. Far as him being down I didn't get that at all watching that interview. Prince is a Gemini their moods change quick as a gust of wind. Prince loves attention so I don't think any hiatus would be that long. The message you are about to hear are not meant for transmission. On that note, I hope that it is not I whom you suggest that does not care. I've never met him, I cannot say that I have had the pleasure of getting to know him as a friend ... as a person. Being just the girl next door I'm not expecting anything. Therefore this is all I can rightly say. But watching from afar, this what he means to me. I'm sure they're will be a handful that will leap to the attack. But they'll just have to get over it, (the ones that seem to go on the attack all the time). ... But things got weird ...online anyway... and I ended up promising someone I would stop posting. And I did for a time. Now I'm realizing sense the person was deceitful and not who they claimed and conveyed themselves to be... the promise I made is null and void. I shouldn't have made that promise in the first place...and I know that, but my heart was in the right place ... my intent was sincere. ... peace to all. peace and much love to Prince.
