I dont why people are reading so much into Prince's interview, hes a person with beliefs and opinions, just like joe schmo on the corner. Just because hes got talent and hits and things like that dont mean that he has to have something that will change the world, hes a person. As for the Obama thing, why does Prince have to say anything? He complimented him, he said no ill of him, so he didnt bow down and kiss the ground, Prince is not into politicians like that, he is more into SPEAKERS he said this long ago. So take it with a grain of salt, agree with what you want, disagree at what you want, but remember you are the one that are putting him in this higher power persona and then bitching because he doesnt say what you want to hear.

but Obama is the greatest SPEAKER since MLK!

Is this interview broken up into two parts at two different times? According to my paper, it aired at 7:00 and will air again at 11:00. Is it a repeat or is the interview broken up into two segments?

It depends on where u live. All PBS markets air different times.

I enjoyed the interview hearing Prince respond to the questions posed, provided another dimension. He was eloquent in his responses regardless of whether one agrees or disagrees ith the topic. I liked that he made metion of Dick Gregory who is a respected, long time, activist and world observer. His Jack Johnson reference was a poignant analogy of never quitting or giving up, the need to be stronger, wiser, better. I also found his recolections of his relationship with his father quite interesting and honest -- funny how we view things as children and how our views refine as adults. I think overall he did a good job, there seemed to be fleeting moments of slight discomfort, but I would think that's to be expected.

Thanks for sharing, Prince.

P.S. Some of the topics Prince discussed may be uncomfortable for some of you to hear, but your unwillingness to listen is a failing on your part, not his; like he said, read about it for yourself. The U.S. as well as other governments have historically, and continue to, conducte trials, tests and public control methods, this just is; so stop blaming the messenger.

P.S.S. I think the Orgers who complain the loudest and suggest there is something wrong about Prince's statements are simply deflecting what they KNOW is true...kinda like when the government sought to destroy the Panther Party...put a few dissenters in the bunch, divide and create doubt.

Word.

In my opinion this is the best interview I have seen Prince do. There was no sense of an "agenda" even with the religious questions. He answered the questions as openly and honestly as he could in a public forum. (People are honest in different ways depending on the context. That's not to say they are being dishonest.) I think Prince was a little uncomfortable at times with Tavis's glowing comments but I don't think Tavis was being insincere - he's a fan.

Sorry and no offence intended but in my reality there is NO God....or Creator...so are you saying I can't have morals ?? The reality is that many believe as I do.....that there is NO God....so what....love4oneanother doesn't extend to us ?? and those that do believe in God are somehow better or more moral ?...now we are back to subjugation.

Liv4Love - I think you missed my point -- My point is how did you obtain your morals - and I believe as a human being we all are created by God and are instilled in our heart with his standards from the bible instintively - However just like Adam and Eve a person can choose with their free will to follow the instintive morals provided by God or not. Also depending on the environment a person is raised also affects their morals/ethics.

The point I am making is even though you do not believe in God does not mean you were not instilled with morals from God and from people around you who do believe in God. It is your choice to believe or not believe - I am just providing my comment to your post and I am not judging you.

Just KeepinItReal

have you actually read the old testament? if you have then you would realise that those are exactly the 'morals' that humanity does not need and has strived for thousands of years to overcome. and arguments like that was the sign o' the times - just do not add up,
I can see in myself that is not moral, the suppression of woman the barbaricness in the old testament is not moral/was never moral. yet i have no belief in god

the argument that we were designed by god is lunacy. because humanity's morals evolve, (their is survival benefit toward empathy etc...). if we were all created by god why would some people be immoral and some moral?, what determines this distinction. What makes some catholic priest's abuse children, or even the many published accounts of sexual abuse in JW’s that occur?

I do not think a (insert religion) doing charity work because they know that will be perceived as good by god and then be allowed into heaven - is morality. Most Christians etc... are good because they know if they are good (in their eyes) they will be rewarded. THAT IS NOT MORALITY.

I am good because I was brought up well -- > with manners and knowing right from wrong. anti social behaviour etc.. run's in families, people are socialized to be moral or not. it has nothing to do with god.

Claiming that it does it total insult to people.

I disagree.
I thought the interview was quite fantastic. I like to know about the "person" behind the music, not JUST the music!
I think the interview was conducted well and I enjoyed hearing Prince speak on the topic of his father as well.
He knows people judge his music at times based off of him as a person...I enjoyed hearing about every bit of that.

I'd like to see his answer to that!

1) Target
2) Website
3) No non US retailer has approached Prince with a good offer
4) $ is weak but stronger than the pound / euro
5) You can buy it now via Play.com at a very fair price or via Amazon.com

biggrin

Speak for yourself. I'd just like to see him squirm a little about the non US release issue. And the fact that the bulk of OS fans STILL can't get the CDs.

I hear you, but Prince.org is a fan site and they have not done much to help overseas fans....we didn't even get a sticky so all our effort in finding the CD at a good price in our various countries could be logged....

So unless your a US orger don't expect to much help here.....

Saying that their was a number of US orgers that did try to help overseas orgers get hold of the CD....and I thanks them for that... biggrin

Prince got it wrong! It wasn't 8 Presidents before George Washington, it was actually 16 (1 was President for a day). I not sure why good old George didn't make it a point recognize the men before him as Presidents. I guess he pulled a power trip like Prince and just didn't wanna give them no credit for the work they did. At any rate, they were Presidents, how can you say they were not? It's like saying a woman is a little pregnant, no such thing, either you are or not. http://library.thinkquest...early.html

By the way President Obama is not the 1st black President! He is the 1st black President to have the black skin tone. http://fookembug.wordpres...ack-obama/
